I was out at BLDGC today and took a kid I mentor with to play here. While there we decided to help out and pick up garbage, cans, bottles, cigarette packs, etc By the time we reached hole # 10 we had each filled a garbage bag, even though we passed at least 3 garbage cans on the way. ( All emptied recently by the way, last time I was here they were overflowing.) Anyways we quite our round early after picking up another 1 and a half bags of garbage. by hole number 15.
What a bummer, I really like this course but it's a shame people can't pack out what they bring in. Is this common at the other courses in the Madison area?
Sorry to gripe but it seems to give Disc Golfers a bad rap if you can't keep the course clean.

Baraboo DGC sounds like it was really neglected. Heistand in Madison can look trashy as well as the courses up here in the Appleton area. Sad isn't it? People don't value things that are free or come easy as much as they do things they have to dig deep into their pockets for. Human nature I guess. Thanks for taking the time to clean up your course. I'm looking forward to playing Baraboo next month (for the first time).

Wow. I played this course today for the first time. Very nice course. It has a little bit of everything. Tee pads are different than what I'm used to but I got over it (bumps).
The disturbing thing is the trash on the course. I would be upset if I was member of the Baraboo Lions club.

Things must have gone down hill there. Besides for the first tee I don't remember seeing much trash on this course. More people with worse habits playing I guess.
Chainiac glad you had a nice time. I pick up garabage every time I'm there, not the 3 bags I did the one day, but I'm sure I could get that much if I did it once a month.
The teepads definitly need some work, they're really bad when they are wet.
Anyway a reminder to all those that play DG just because it isn't yours doesn't mean you can't pick it up and take it to the next trash can

Yeah, I bet those tees are nasty when they are wet. I enjoyed the course though.
I'm sure you could get 3 bags of trash out of the wooded holes. Keep up the effort. I do it at my course too. I've noticed that when I stop and pick up trash during a round that others in my group soon chip in and help.
Good Luck.
I just got back from playing a round at lunch and have to say it was the cleanest I've seen it in a long time.
They must have done some sort of volunteer project over the weekend, 3/4 of the holes now have trash cans attached to the tee signs with modifications made to the signs to support the cans off the ground.
Maybe the next project could be cement teepads :D
Anyways just wanted to say the Baraboo course is looking really nice, lets hope those that play there will use the trash cans, and that the trash cans will get emptied on a regular basis.
I at least did my fair share. I don't play in Madison a WHOLE lot because I live in Janesville and I'll make it up every once in awhile, but I played hiestand and after finishing a round I noticed there were 4 beer cans right next to the tee on hole 1, so I at least went over and picked them up and threw them away. That kind of stuff can give us bad reps and get courses taken away. THE TRASH CAN WAS 30 FEET AWAY, get off your lazy asses.

Hey there everyone. Just letting you know that Dane is heading off to Baraboo right about this time. He has secured sponsorship (from me and others) and will meet his B-tier requirements for this event! This IS a Wisconsin Tour Event!
Player's pack again this year so come on over and play the fun course at Baraboo this weekend. Online Registration (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/index.php?cPath=24&osCsid=98911e445287bb347b7fbfa3e5ecdd67) is still available for both days. Later tonight we will be shutting down Saturday's registration and then we'll shut down Sunday's tomorrow sometime. SECURE your spot by pre-registering for this event. Walk up registration is much more work and slows things down the day of but it might be available both days if the fields don't fill.
If you'd like to check out who is already registered you can do so here. (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5815)

I don't have too much time as I'm online via a parking lot of a Baraboo Hotel. The UNOFFICIAL scores and results are up and here you go. Remember - we did not take into account on the online scoring that the REC division and the JR played 2 rounds from the shorts while all others played 1 round from shorts then 1 from the longs.

Cool.
Just a heads up if you think all the stats are up but the Advance Men is not showing up. If your updating now then ignore. Laters. Great time Terry... Best weather we have seen yet in Baraboo.....

Just so everyone knows...we stopped off in Madison to get some dinner and that's where I quickly tried to upload the event results. I had some glitch with uploading it and I'll try to get it fixed in the next day or two.

Hey everyone...
With a little help I figured out the glitch with the online reporting and now it's all up. All 108 players are on there and the preliminary round ratings should be somewhat close because I entered in that Saturday saw all but the juniors and rec players play one round of each tee while Sunday players also played one round from each set of tees.
The SCORES (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=5815&year=2006&includeRatings=1#Open) are all right here.
Also, Ryan Hornickel is getting snail mail registration information and you are QUICKLY going to see the gap close for available spots for both Saturday and Sunday. REGISTER ONLINE (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/index.php?cPath=24&osCsid=ea50e6314e6f97f83c650892f757fb32) right now if you want to get in for this weekend. This event fills every year so I wouldn't dilly dally any longer.
