Does anyone have any info on courses in the U.P. of Michigan? I'm planning a trip up there and would like to hit some courses up there. I can't seem to find any in the course directory. If anyone can help.....hook me up!
As far as i know there arent any courses up there YET. If there is one, it would be around Manistique i THINK. However, i do belive that the Northern Waters guys are building a couple in the UP very soon. But so far, if ya wanna play golf, you gotta stay away from the Yoopers

What about Indianhead Mountain Resort listed in Wakefield? Looks like that's near Ironwood in the U.P. Anyone played it?

Has anyone played the course at Indianhead Mountain Resort? Is it worth the drive over from Highbridge, WI?

There used to be a UP course just outside St. Ignace. I'd ask the Northern Waters guys if it isn't in the course directory.

The one at St. Ignace is there because some guys just played it on their way home from the Am Nats before stopping a Highbridge. The Indianhead course is just OK but the views are excellent. It's close enough to check out and I've heard the restaurant up there is pretty good.

I think you are thinking of the Silver Mountain course. That is at the entrance to the UP from the lower peninsula which is hundreds of miles from Highbridge, WI.
I'm in inquring about the Indian Head Mountain resort course which is just on the other side of Hurley / Ironwood near the WI / MI border and only 15 miles from the Whitecap ski area where everyone is staying for Pro Worlds 2007.

There is a course in Marquette at the ski resort (at least there was when I was there 2 years ago).

Thanks, Chuck. Sounds like in addition to the Highbridge courses there are the additional courses at Whitecap Ski Area and Indian Head Mountain resort for Pro Worlds 2007 competitors and staff to play if they wish.

And Whitecap is getting close to approving baskets to extend their 9 hole course to the special temp 18 layout for the summer which goes up and around the ball golf course with some very cool holes.

Awesome! Jeff Ash was saying on the Pro Worlds 2007 thread that the ball golf course at Whitecap was spectacular, with views of Lake Superior. 9 temp holes up there would be super sweet, especially if they are challenging. (It sounds like the permanent 9-hole layout in the Bunny Bowl beneath the main lodge is mostly pitch-n-putt.)

Any word on whether there's now another 9 holes at Whitecap in time for Pro Worlds?
My wife and I are planning to make a side trip at some point in the week over to play the Indianhead course, check out the views, and eat dinner at the restaurant up there.

No go. They didn't want to buy baskets for a one shot deal and it was too much fiddling around to get nine portables over there and secure them.
