133 players have ever had a rating of 1000 or more.

Currently, 81 players have a 1000+ rating that has been updated
at least once in the last 4 updates.

Of those 81, they divide up by age as:
50's = 2
40's = 21
30's = 22
20's = 33
Teens = 3

With the mid-May update, a new record was set for the yougest
1000+ player ever. The youngest current, and youngest ever,
is Matthew Orum, who was 16.5 at the mid-May update.

There is currently only one player younger than Orum with a
rating over 970, and that is Garrett Gurthie, who is rated 974
at age 14.5.

The oldest current, and oldest ever, 1000+ is Dr. Rick at 55 years.

History of youngest ever 1000+ rating:
Steve Rico in Update 1 (8/8/1998) at 19.6 years
Aaron Wield in Update 8 (6/25/2000) at 17.1 years
Nate Doss in Update 16 (5/27/2002) at 17.0 years
Matthew Orum in Update 26 (5/15/2002) at 16.4 years

From what I hear about Rico, it's possible he was playing at a 1000+ level
before he was 17, but ratings were not yet implemented.

There have been 9 players that received a 1000+ rating before their
20th birthday. They are:
Age at 1000+ Player
19.6 Steve Rico
19.6 Eric Tracy
19.3 Bobby Musick
19.2 Jesper Lundmark
19.2 Nolan Grider
17.3 Jonathon Pierce
17.1 Aaron Wield
17.0 Nate Doss
16.5 Matthew Orum

On the other end, there have been 3 players that received a 1000+ rating
after their 50th birthday. They are:
Age at 1000+ Player
55.0 Rick Voakes
52.5 Snapper Pierson
51.3 Dave Greenwell

Another history tidbit, the charter members of the 1000+ Club, those
who had a rating over 1000 at the first ratings update ever:
Voakes
Greenwell
McDaniel
Wisecup
Lissaman G
Hammock
Leonard
Russell
Martin
Climo
Stokely
Schultz
Moser
Randolph
Rico S

And how many of those have continuously remained above 1000?

Funny you should ask, thanks.

Lissaman G, Leonard, Russell, Martin, Climo, Schultz, Moser, and Rico have remained above 1000 and have received an updated rating at least every 4 updates.

Stokely and Randolph have always been over 1000, but their ratings went "stale" at least once since the first update. (Stale is just my term. It has no official bearing. Officially, if a 1000-rated player stops playing tournaments, they'll stay 1000 forever. At least for now anyway.)

What's the highest rated round to date?

Speaking of stale, what does any of this have to do with anything. What are you trying to say Rod?

Missing from that list is Nate Doss's 37 (17 under on 18 holes) last weekend at Lakeport. Preliminary rating of 1079, but I'd bet that goes up.

Well, Nick, I find it incredibly interesting. Sometimes its fun just analyzing stats instead of trying to find a way to solve all of DG's problems ;)

Fair enough.

In that direction. My rating is going to go down likely. The sky is blue when there are no clouds at midday. I like strawberries. Stan loves renny too!

But I can't tell what color the sky is at midday when it is overcast. I think it turns bright green, but I can't find the statistics I need to prove it.

You know there are other ways to show that posts are of no interest to you Nick. If necessary you could actually not respond or if in times of emergency you could even use the 'ignore' function of the message board.

Wow, I just re-read my post and saw that I quoted both 16.4 and 16.5 for Orum's age at the 1000 point. I'll have to check that and get back to you on which is correct. Seems like it was 16.48 or something, thus 16.5.

Of course, the embarrassment of that error pales in comparison to the fact that I'm re-reading my own posts at 9:15 on a Friday night.
