Opps - 2 late to fix the typo - obviously it means early 2005 for the finale. We can't set dates for next year until the National Tour and Super Tour schedule is set. Should be February/March time frame though.

For those of you that have not had the chance to play the Klien course over in Beaumont, this would be a great opportunity to go check it out. It is a very fun course with a mix of short/technical holes in a nice shady park.

Jun 29 2004, 02:05 AM

It was a great day for golf and thank you to everyone who came out. The scores came in much higher than expected on the early morning best shot round at Tyrrell. Joe and Bubba tore it up in open though and smoked the course with a 42. Matchu and Doug shot advanced quality golf with a hot round of 48. Oddly enough, eight of the nine advanced teams were in the lead or one stroke out when the dust settled.

During the 2nd round the hot score of 49 was shared by the advanced team of Dustin and Keith and the intermediate team of Tim and JT. Dustin and Keith also impressively went bogey free. The roll of the dice picked holes 7 through 12 for us for worst shot and Tim and JT came out on top over the entire field shooting a one down.

Congratulation to all the winning teams! The next Big Money Doubles Series event will be August 22 at Moffitt following the Gulf Coast Championship Series opener the day before. Hope to see you all there.

Moffitt Big Money Doubles, August 22, 2004

We were lucky today and the rain held off until after the 2nd round. During the first round Lee/Boo and Conrad/Richard set the pace for the field with hot rounds of 40. Keith and Dustin had a two-stroke lead in the competitive advanced division with a round of 43, but the story of the first round was the Recreational team of Thomas and Ned who shot a white-hot round of 43 WOW!

The roll of the dice left us playing worst shot on the middle six holes from the flags/long boxes during the second round. Conrad and Richard stayed steady with a 52, taking the open division by 3 and bringing home $240 for their trouble. Keith and Dustin held off the advanced field with a 51, while Ned and Thomas scorched the other recreational team by six on the day. In Intermediate, the last second pairing of Chad and Gimp took the division by two.

Hope to see you all out at the next BMDS event at Jack Brooks Park, Hitchcock, October 16th.

Since this event is unsanctioned, can an am accept cash if he is playing open with a pro in doubles? And how close is the live oak stop to being full, I have a client coming in from San Diego either that weekend or the next and I would really like to play the DGCCS stop both the 30th and doubles on the 31st but I will just have to play it by ear.

I cannot imagine Live Oak filling since we can do two courses there. You should be ok as long as you are there by the signup cutoff of 9:00.

Yes, you can accept cash in doubles and it not effect your AM status since the qualifiers are unsanctioned.
