Are they available yet?
I was at their website on Thursday and I didn't see a place where you could buy the disc.

I just got an automatic response to my e-mail that said the disc won't be for sale (unless you buy one of their prototypes) until late May, early June.

Also I haven't seen anything yet that says they're PDGA approved.

In case anyone is interested, the PDGA says that Discwing has not submitted the Quarter K, or any other disc for that matter, for testing and approval. Just FYI. I'll still buy one when they come out though. Should just be a matter of time before they are approved.

The web site says the Quarter K will be available in weights from 165g to 185g. If they are planning to manufacture and sell the disc according to PDGA specs, that means this will be a large diameter disc.

Which would be the opposite approach that disc manufacturers have taken over the past 10 years or so (ie: making smaller diameter drivers).

The one in the tech description looks too much like an ultimate disc to handle much speed. Wonder what the production QK will look like ?

Yeah, I looked at those PDFs, too... and thought the same thing... Is this really going to be a fat edged disc? Or, are those just the diagrams they use to portray their wind tunnel testing?

Did they only test high profile discs? If yes, what's the point for DG, since we already know low profile goes farther?

These guys did a lot of analysis and wind tunnel testing to arrive at this disk. Being in the engineering business myself I have one concern for their disk and that's that analysis and lab testing is no substitute for years of field testing and experience (like Innova and Discraft, ect have). I would be surprised if their very first disc will be able to compete with the discs out now. That and they don't seem to be too concerned with PDGA testing. Guess we'll find out in June.
