Tuesday night daylight savings league is alive and pumping. We had 7 last night! Right now we are trying to build people and decide on a format, so for now we just group up at 5 PM and decide what to play.

Make sure you come out this Tuesday at 5 PM so that I don't get two wins in a row. That just wouldn't be right. :)
I'll be pushing for doubles this week, but if we have 5 or 6 again I might just push for Wolf.

It wasn't pretty, but it was fun. We had 6 golfers for the third week of Tuesday night "league" and opted for ten cent a skin Wolf. Nobody else had ever played Wolf, but they all caught on quickly. Wolf is a lot easier to just do than to explain, know what I mean? :)
Result? Hey, I'm 2-0! It's pretty fun being the hotshot in the crowd, but somebody better come out and show these boys what a real player can do. :)

Rhett, You're going to have to open a proshop with all the plastic you're winning from me.
First win, he swapped a Deluxe Innova Bag for a Emerald Isle Logo Disc. ;)

How's the Emerald Isle Tuesday league been going? Will it happen tonight at 5PM? How many people attend? Can players just show up to play, or do they have to have attended from the start?
Thanks in advance.

Had a great time playing EI yesterday, despite carrying a cripple around the course with me.
Thanks, Skip! You always treat us disc throwers wonderfully, and make us feel welcomed.
(I was over par both rounds, but enjoyed it).

Just had the chance to play Emerald Isle's golf course again.
Love playing Disc Golf here on a well maintained , clean , well run course.
Emerald Isle's pro shop is very clean and offers a variety of golf discs , Collard and regular t-shirts , snacks , sodas and a on site cook and of course beer if you so desire.
Golf carts are also an option and the course layout is challenging. You have to pay attention to your drives , approaches and putts.
For those of you who are on your way to San Diego , California.
You have to stop by Emerald Isle's golf course in Oceanside.

You'll be happy you did !!!!! :D

Donny once blew out his achilles heel about 4 holes into the first round of the 4 round SoCal Championships on the rolling hills of La Mirada. Not only did he finish the tournament, he cashed!
What I'm trying to say is: Donny might not be the best one to judge whether he is well enough to play a tourney or not. :)

donny i just want you to know if you go down during the round and your on my card i'am gonna leave you where you lay because i need all the help i can get  :D
If he collapses during a round, it's okay to move him. If he collapses in practice, you need to leave him as he lies. Unless, of course he interferes with your stance.
james
i see you madfe the move, hows it going up there for you
It's great. Except for the 2 hours plus drive for golf. If the forest service would get off their asses and approve our course, things would be just about perfect.
let me guess you have to drive to tahoe to play a round ?
where are you looking to put a course in ?
You are correct. Tahoe it is. The Mammoth course will be at Sledz, near the earthquake fault on the way up to the main lodge. Snapper came up in July to design it. It's all staked out and ready to go in. We're just waiting for design approval from the Forest service, and waiting, and waiting... That's the Government for you.

The "Gub-Ment" doesnt like to give away land unless your cutting down ALL the trees for profit or Drilling for Oil /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Good Luck with your efforts...........
Thanks for the vote of confidence :) We are a little further along then that. They have approved the idea of a course there. They just haven't gotten around to approving the actual design yet. Theoretically, that should just be a rubber stamp as we aren't cutting down any trees, but who knows?

Id really like to discuss the "avenues" that you used to get as far as you have. :)
There have been MANY efforts on Federal Land in NorCal with nothing but a FIRM "NO WAY, NO HOW" each time :(
I'd like to help you out, but I personally haven't had any contact whatsoever with the Forest Service. I gather that the reason this particular parcel of land has been given the go ahead is that it is already in use during the winter as a snowplay area with several rope tows and so forth. It's more along the lines of getting a course installed at a ski resort; someplace that already has a use permit. I came into the process rather late. I helped a little bit with the design and will probably be in charge of the installation.

In my defense, I'd like to place the blame for this thread drift squarely on Jack's shoulders (yet another reason that he needs to be forgiven.) :)

Hey , how's it going ...................
No , that was Montgomery Waller Park. Just north of Imperial Beach. Ask Rick Bays for more info.
Bayside is a sweet little temp. course . Beautiful cut grass. Trash cans , restrooms , drinking fountains , scenic views of Mission Bay, some of the Absolute Best weather on the West Coast you could ever want. Very Comfortable playing there. Oh , did I mention water shots as well
Jack , you would love this sweet course. Some long holes , a few shorter holes ( depending on people in the park ) and awesome scenery. :D

Tuesday doubles moves to Sundays at noon starting this weekend. Just not enough daylight anymore for the 5:00 PM start.
This is a "fun league" where the winners are paid in plastic from the pro shop. Minimal entry fee, maximum fun. Come on out if you can have fun under those circumstances! :)

Sundays at noon we have random draw doubles at Emerald Isle. This coming Sunday we are going to have a "Ladies Fun League" at the same time, if enough women show up. So bring your wives and girlfriends. There should be enough for at least one full card of "short tees/play for fun" gals there. The more the merrier. Talk the girls into coming out so they can play together and have some fun.
