It will be coming, production has been the major delay, we spent some extra time to get it right.

I'll agree on Cool/Hot Shots. I've met Johnny B. (who produces said videos/dvds) and he's an unique and interesting individual, and not a bad golfer.

I liked those beause of the camera angles and being able to see a bunch of courses I've never been to and probably never will. Plus, it's got a killer soundtrack if ya like classic rock and roll.

The PDGA NT dvd is also pretty cool. It's two hours and covers eight NT events, but the coverage of each event is not consistent, but it's still worth the money. rWc

So....what can we expect??? Complete coverage of the final 18, plus the playoff...eight hours worth of discgolf cut down to two hours? Multiple camera angles...

Cool shots / Hot shots ... I only saw them for sale on e-bay. A little pricy for both of them - $20 or $25 a pop. Do I get them as a combo somewhere cheaper? :D

Homer: Do you want it done quickly, or do you want it done right?

Marge: Well, like all Americans, quickly!

A friend of mine got that one recently. It's a worthwhile two hours, but if I were making next year's, I'd . . .

Change a few things to make it more exciting. First, do the commentary later. Live commentary is one thing when you've got John Madden going "whoahhhhhhhhh!!!" every couple minutes. And it's essential if the event is being broadcast live. But since the announcer has to talk so softly in golf, there's no room for John Madden personality, and a taped event doesn't have the natural suspense that makes normal golf commentary bearable. The announcer comes off sounding bored, or like he can't quite think of what to say. I'd go with an NFL Films style dramatic voiceover.

I was also hoping for more insight into the game. Where was that shot supposed to go? What do most pros do in that situation? Why did that guy just shank it so badly? Some intelligent analysis, combined with slow-mo replay and on-screen graphics would be great. Top players might not care about this stuff, but it would really increase the value of these videos for most of us.

Another thing I'd like is more human-interest material. Who are these guys? What do they do when they're not golfing? What's life like on the tour?

Finally, the video needs to play to a tighter target audience. Is it meant to be a great watch for experienced players, or a promotional tool to draw new people into the game? In order to enjoy the tour footage, you need to understand what it's like to be at a tournament, because the video does almost nothing to convey the drama of the game. The segments between tour stops, though, cover basic questions like "What is disc golf?" and "Where can I play?" Most of us know the answers to those questions already, so we're bored during the interludes. When you try to hit two target audiences, you usually miss both of them, so the producers should go one way or the other. If it's meant for experienced players, give us in-depth interlude segments. I'm sure most people could learn a thing or two from Ken Climo. If they're going after novices, pump up the drama in the tournament footage to make disc golf look like something you'd actually want to do.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts. I know how much work it takes to produce any kind of video, so none of this should reflect badly on the people involved.

Get it right, I would rather wait in hopes it is better than the past few videos that have come out. I am not knocking the NT video or the 2003 Worlds, but the production of them both lacked. Skipping all over the place with random inserts. Atleast there are videos to watch.

Thats my 2 cent.
