I don't know a lot about the Disc Golf Hall of Fame. I have seen a video that explained some stuff, but I was wondering if anyone knows what is in there, where it is, what is the traveling schedule, etc. If there is another thread about this, please let me know. Thanks. :)

Founded by Lavone Wolfe in 1993, The Disc Golf Hall of Fame was created as a way of recognizing people who have made significant contributions to the sport of disc golf. The annual induction ceremony takes place each year at the Pro World Championship. A very nice plaque is presented to each inductee at the ceremony and a duplicate plaque is made part of the HOF museum collection. The museum also features a huge collection of vintage and collectible disc golf related items, including Ed Headrick's original prototype pole hole. This museum is generally displayed each year at the World Championship and is overseen by HOF Director, Al "Speedy" Guerrero. The Hall of Fame website (http://www.innovadiscs.com/juliana/Fame/fame.html) was created by Juliana Korver and features a very nice bio on each of the Hall of Famers.

The PDGA National Disc Golf Center, currently under development at Wildwood Park just north of Augusta, GA, will for the first time, provide the Hall of Fame with a permanent home for it's museum. The National Center will also house the Steady Ed Headrick memorial museum.

The Disc Golf Hall of Fame Classic (http://MEMBERS.AOL.COM/HOFCLASSIC) tournament was created to honor all of the distinguished Hall of Famers and to help raise money for the HOF. The event was resurrected last year by the Augusta Disc Golf Association and was one of 11 events on the inaugural PDGA National Tour. The event will not be held in 2004, due to a construction project which will have Lake Olmstead Park unplayable, but it is scheduled to return to the National Tour in 2005.

Hello, I received the following e-mail from a disc golfer and didn't have an answer for him. Does anyone?

jeff....

i went to the pdga website and was curious to browse the list of hall of fame members.
i searched and searched and couldn't find anything.

it seems to me that for all these folks have done for the sport there should be a very obvious tab or link or banner or otherwise very visible way for anyone going to the pdga website to be able to view biographies of those members already inducted into our sport's hall of fame.

can you see what you can do to make this more obvious to folks entering the website....

thanks!!

Click on the Information menu and there's a big old Hall of Fame icon on the bottom of the right side of the Information page.

Looks like this golfer's search wasn't as extensive as he portrayed it to be... :D

I emailed someone at the DGHOF but never heard from them! :( How does one nominate someone for the DGHOF? We have a very deserving person here in the South that deserves consideration. What's the process? Anyone? rWc3523
