For those of you that do not know, Amy and I have been blessed with our first pregnancy. Several weeks ago, we found out that it's a boy! "Baby Hero" is due March 18 2004. We are in dire need of a middle name that goes with either RYAN or EVAN. We love both names equally, but have been coming up shorthanded on a good middle name. Please note that our last name is pronounced (My-your-oh). Any suggestions? Did i just open up a can of worms or what? :D

March, does that make him an Aries zodiac sign? If so, then I suggest Ryan Adam Maiuro. That way his initials will be RAM. :D

How would Amy feel about Climo or Colin? Aspire for greatness.
ce
Now you've got me John. I love names. With a three sylable last name you may want to go short for the middle. I do like
Evan. How about Evan Lee? Toni and I seriously considered her maiden name and since your a good ole Italian boy it might work. Evan Adamo. Ah-dah-moe for you rejects. Of course Von is always available. The best part is when you hear it, it will be perfect.

Ryan Mace Maiuro
Being Italian like yourself I would urge you (that is if you or your parental family are still close to the Italian type traditions) to use the good ole' commonly used Italian middle name Anthony. It's a middle name that flows well with both of the first names that you are debating on. And don't worry about keeping the names short, thats not an Italian thing at all (my full name being Jon-Rocco Anthony Varchetto).

Roc would make a cool middle name...but Wasp wouldn't!

Well, i didn't know exactly where to begin until i saw Rodney's pictures of Baby-Houck. Those have to be some of the funniest images on the world wide web!!!!
First off, i want to thank God for blessing my wife Amy and I with our greatest gift of all, Ryan Jacob. The miracle of life is exaclty that, a miracle! In Ryan's case, it was a double miracle. You see, Ryan was born at 12:53pm on 3/4/04 with a double knot in his umbilical cord the size of a golf ball. The doctor said that it was a tight knot, but somehow blood, food and waste was able to travel to and from. I asked how long it had been there, and he answered "a long time". The baby had to be small enough to create a loop, then "swim" through it. We were about to find out that that was only Ryan's first hurdle in "the real world." (not counting coming down the birth canal)
Seconds after he was born the staff was doing all of their tests on him and started to speak some sort of code. I asked if everything was okay becuase momma had not even held the little guy yet, and dadda didn't get to cut the cord. The staff told me that Ryan had a temperature of 103(normal is 98.6), a heart rate of 200bpm (normal is 140bpm), and a respiratory rate in the upper 60's(normal is mid to high 30's). Needless to say, Ryan was in trouble.
The staff inside of the birthing room doubled, then tripled. After several minutes, and what seemed like 100's of tests, I was told that Ryan needed to go to infant ICU. Right before the staff took him, momma finally was able to hold him. He was at peace in her arms. It was beautiful.
Due to the stress of labor and delivery, Amy had developed a minor temperature of 100 degree's. Due to this, she was NOT allowed to see her first child who was downstairs in ICU. I was able to visit him in ICU with one visitor at a time. I think i took 4 or 5 trips down there with the grand parents, but would have traded all of those visits in if Amy could have gone just once.
Four hours later, Ryan's vitals stablized, and he was finally able to join us upstairs in our home away from home. The doctors think that his symptoms were due to momma's temperature and stress.
We had to stay in the hospital one day longer than most becuase they put "Baby-Hero" on antibiotics that had to run their course. After 3 days, we were finally able to go home.
Those of you that are parents know, and those of you that aren't, i hope you will. This was the greatest day of my life.
I want to thank all of you for your support and encouragement. We needed it!
