Hey, if I ask my wife to get me the Worlds Video will it get to me (her) by Xmas? I guess my question is are these ready for shipment now?
If someone in the know has an answer it would be greatly appreciated.

I like them too!
It sure is nice to see a preview of what's to come.

Shotgun Houck sure has become quite the commentator.

When will these become available?
They would make a nice holiday gift.

I pre-ordered them today, but there is no information as to when they will actually be in stock. Does anyone know when the PDGA thinks they will actually be shipping?

I ordered the videos when I renewed my membership. The check to the PDGA was deposited on the 2nd of December. It's been over a month, still no video's or membership. I want to see the rest of the video. Stop teasing me!

Are these Videos basically the same thing they showed during and after the live webcast of Pro World's?

I would really love to get my hands on a video that has that incredible shot by Elaine King on it.

Question for the PDGA BOD folks:

I understand that DiscTV failed to fullfill its obligations toward the production of the 2002 Pro Worlds video.

Has the PDGA got any legal recourse which might allow an independent company to produce this footage if we could obtain the raw tapes from them? It seems that they are in serious breach of contract with regards to it, and perhaps a settlement could be reached where they'd just turn over the raw tapes for us to have someone else produce.

Not an official PDGA statement.

Ching, my understanding is that when we cancelled our contract with DiscTV, we made a legal demand for the footage, but we have not received any response at all to our letters or phone calls. The folks who were funding and running DiscTV are refusing to communicate.

It's sad that what is probably some great footage is being held hostage in this way, but actually bringing legal action to force handover of the footage would likely be more expensive than it would be worth, both in terms of volunteer and staff time, and in dollars to lawyers and courts. Which is not to say that it is completely out of the question. But I *used* to be a lawyer and left that field thinking that litigation is a definite end-of-the-trail resort that can cause more problems than it solves.

Maybe there's someone out there who has the ear of John Sink or Leo Borowksi. If so, it would be nice if they sounded either one or both out about handing over the footage and maybe could act as an intermediary in negotiating that, or at least opening communications. (In fact, we'd like a current address or phone number for Sink.)

Thanks Terry! I appreciate the predicament that this whole mess is in. And it is good to know that those options are being considered at any rate.

As for where Sink might have gone to...well, I'll just leave the obvious puns up to everyone's own imagination since the situation really isn't a humorous one.

Still, it does seem almost criminal that the raw footage is being held hostage by those folks! And I've got to imagine that we've got some talented members out there that would be able to produce something useful out of it. Leo seemed to be a pretty skillful cameraman.

Slightly off topic, but is there going to be a DVD of the USDGC? If so when should it be available?

I got my NT dvd in today. Has great footage. However, the disc was loose inside the case and got scratched during shipping but it seems to play fine. I hope this isnt a common problem.

All that stuff gets shipped from Georgia now, not Canada. That was one of the big changes we made in the last couple of years that is making things easier for everyone. (I know that every time I had to mail something to Canada I played the typical "ugly American" and dithered about what was the right postage, etc.)
