Hello
My name is William Berry and I just recently have become interested in playing more competitve disc golf. I'm an ultimate player turned disc golfer whose been playing around a year now, but still haven't perfected my throwing technique. I am trying to learn though!
I'm interested in learning about leagues in and near Richmond Virginia. I play mostly at Gillie's creek park and am curious if there are any events there. I've also heard things about The Grange and was wondering if anyone had info on leagues there.

Interesting. There is a weekly league Wednesday nights at Gillies Creek. If you have missed it, I'm amazed. Come on out and join in. Here is a brief list of events
Monday - Bayville, Va. Beach
Tuesday- Newport News Doubles, Northern Va Series

no, I wasnt able to come due to the rain.
I have a bad ankle thanks to Ultimate frisbee and dont trust walking on it when is wet.
I might actually try and make the Grange today though if the conditions arent too bad.

A few weeks ago a player blew his knee out while playing on a sunny day. I was hurt and didn't play that day so it was my job to drive out onto the course and get him. The first week I played after being injured, I won the ace pot. He showed up last night to play in the rain and I was a little worried about him getting hurt again.. He played anyway and won the ace pot. You should have played.
What time does doubles start at Newport News? Is it random or bring your own partner?
It looks like I wont be able to make tomorrow's event either /msgboard/images/clipart/sad.gif. I'm traveling to New York for a week, but I should be home in time for next wednesday. We'll see.

Sherando is off of 81 just North of crossing Rte. 66... near Winchester VA... good stuff!

You'll be with in a hour from Paw Paw when you hit Winchester area on 81.
But I believe there is a course in Strausburg VA (someone will chime in here with specifics) that is worth going to and I believe that one is right off 81.

take first right onto QUARRY RD, and first left (about 50 feet) onto ORANDA RD, 1-2 miles,
