Hello all,

The Challenger is approved and ready to go. We should start shipping these by Friday 1/31. It is an overstable putter in our Elite-X plastic that feels great in the hand and is an amazing upshot disc. They should be arriving in stores in a couple of weeks and Mace will probably have some for ZBoaz next weekend.

Best regards,

Keith Murray

Me guesses a...dare I say...Rhyno-like disc...to fill the void b/tw the Magnet/Putt'r/Rattler(??) & the mid-range trio of Hawk/Comet/MRV,X.

"Hey Eggers! Here ya go!!" Any Des Moines folks here? Tell Chris Eggers about this disc...he'll do a backflip!!! /msgboard/images/clipart/proud.gif

What's the story? Challenger=Rhyno-like? My Rhyno has been one of the most important discs in my bag...from a wind putter to a short/mid-range driver..but mostly as an approach disc. Me wants to know mo!! /msgboard/images/clipart/proud.gif

I don't know how the Challenger flies yet ($%!#*&^ snow), but it is shaped like an Aviar. It looks almost like a big bead Aviar but the bead is wide and very short.

No Matt....... APX with a bead like the WASP?

Feb 06 2003, 11:16 AM
Pelg....is closer, more like an APX with a wide, short bead. Forgiving top-plate, might be good for putting into those crazy chainstars with the chain assembly at the bottom that requires a piece of foam rubber to stay in. I got my hands on the X-wasp, haven't tried it yet, but from the feel, it looks like it might replace a z-hawk.

Pelg..I hear Tanner is heading this way in a week or so..you coming with?

Got to throw this disc around quite a bit last night, Just as Keith said, it's a great upshot disc, It feels great in the hand and has just enough overstability to really give it some extended range. (For a standard putter shaped disc)

Yeah Challenger! This disc is great. I have this funny feeling that I am being spied on by Discraft. I add the Valk to my bag and the Z-Wildcat comes out, better and Discraft. I add the BB Aviar to my bag and the Challenger comes out, again better and Discraft. Let's see if next time you can make for me what I need and don't even know it yet. Thanks, guys.

It has been a while since anyone talked about the challenger. There are now several variations available. What's the take on the new Chrystal Challenger?

Mar 18 2004, 08:43 PM
The Z - Challenger has easily become my favorite disc! Anything under 300ft. and I'm throwing it. I tend to skipp past the basket on anything under 350 ft. with the cryztal you can boom it and not have to worry about it flipping on you or skipping. Discraft out did themselves with this one!!!!

I don't think it's as overstable as the X or Pro-D versions. It does glide very well. Kind of like the Z-magnet only its easier to grip.

the cryZtal is bad [*****]- i picked one up in AZ, and during the 3rd round used it and only it on some of the 600ft plus holes and it was awsome.. i was driving it around 300 feet nice and straight..you can really rip it and not worry about it flipping too much, a must have for anyone who like to drive with a putter, but i dont like it as a main puuter ironically enough.

Just got my first shipment of CryZtal challengers in and they have some type of discraft stamp on the bottom. Did the ones in AZ have the discraft stamp on the bottom?
