Do the chains wear out?

Nine of the baskets, Mach III, on our local course were installed in 1990. Nine more Mach IIIs were added in the early '90s, and the final 9 were installed in 2000 for our 27 hole course. Some disc golfers claim the chains are too slippery and no longer catch the disc like they should. There is some interest in replacing the baskets.

Has your course replaced baskets due to worn chains?

Only time I've seen chains replaced is if they are rusted either because they were never galvanized or the galvanizing eventually wore off.
