The 18th Mid-Atlantic AM Championship has been sanctioned by the PDGA as a B-tier event and will be held Aug 03 - 04, 2013 at Seneca Creek State Park DGC in Gaithersburg, MD.

The format will be two 18-hole rounds per day. Advanced and Masters will play Short Tees to A-pins, Long Tees to A-pins on Saturday. Long Tees to B-pins, Short Tees to C-pins on Sunday. Intermediate and Ladies divisions play all 4 rounds from the Short Tees. Advanced & Masters: $45. Intermediate and Ladies: $30. Non-PDGA (or non-current) members must add $10.

Click HERE (https://home.comcast.net/~jmerhi/2013_MAACflier-email.pdf) for the tournament flier.

The PDGA has approved my request for a waiver to force PRO players with a rating 970 and under to play in a mandatory Trophy Only category. Trophy Only is $15. PRO carded players with a rating 971 and over are ineligible to play in this event. I continue to believe in this waiver and consider past results proof of it's success. Now, the <970 Pro player who would never even consider playing this event CAN play in it guilt free. He is not competing for the AM prizes, just the PDGA points. I encourage Pro players with a rating of 970 or lower who love playing Seneca to COME OUT for the MAAC. It's only going to cost you $15, you get to play 4 rounds of tournament golf, and your results will get turned into the PDGA.

Online registration can be found here:

Online registration ROCKS, however, snail mail registration is always available (see the flier) as will day-of-event signups. There will NEVER be a registration late fee for this event. You can even show up on Sunday and pay if you want (I'll cut you a deal). :)

I've received my order from Innova Champion and am very grateful for their continued sponsorship of this event. I can once again proudly announce: Innova Pro Portable basket for the non-Trophy Only winner of the Advanced AM division. I also ordered a boat load of golf bags, discs, and tee shirts. I hope to make the prize package as fat as it's always been.

Hole Sponsorship is only $25 and all proceeds will go directly toward amenities for the players, i.e. food, drinks, ice, etc. Hole sponsorship cash will not be used for prizes, however, donations of plastic or other prizes is greatly appreciated.

Looks like everything is ready to go for the weekend. Temperatures are supposed to be very mild for August, with Highs on both days expected to stay in the low to mid 80s. Sure beats the upper 90s to low100s we had in 2010 and 2011!

The Park mowed the grass and the course is in GREAT shape. Bill Underwood has been out at the course everyday this week pruning for the tournament. It's going to be a great weekend!

Remember, there's NEVER a late fee for signing up on Saturday morning. If you're on the fence, PLEASE consider playing! This event won't fill so pack up your stuff, leave your worries behind, and come play Seneca this weekend!
