Hey Everyone -- There will be work parties this Saturday and Sunday at China
Peak for their new 27-hole disc golf course which will measure almost 13,000
feet of breathtaking and challenging golf going down the side of this ski resort outside of Fresno.

If you can help out, show up between 7 and 8am on Saturday and Sunday this coming weekend (June 22-23). If you have shovels, posthole diggers, etc, please bring those as well and bring water bottles and sunscreen.

I spoke to China Peak yesterday. They have all but one of the 27 collars installed and are going to make a big push this weekend to finish the tees. Baskets arrive on Monday. They are aiming to open by next weekend (i.e. 4th of July weekend). The course was designed by myself, Craig Getty & Leonard Muise and measures just a bit under 13,000 feet. Hole 1 starts near the main chairlift at about 8,700 feet and then plays down the mountain (about 1,700 feet down). We hope you'll like it!

There is great camping nearby at Huntington & Shaver Lakes and lots of private homes for rent. They have also have a bar at the bottom of the Chair for when you're done :). Depending on where you live it's between 3.5-4 hours from the Bay Area.

I am working with their design person on the scorecard -- there is still time to get your name on it if you're interested in sponsoring a hole. As a reminder, for a contribution of $600, hole sponsors will receive a package from China Peak worth $900 including:

1. Two summer Chair passes for the 2013, 2014 & 2015 seasons
2. One free night at the Inn at China Peak (Sunday-Thursday night, non holiday).
3. Two day ski lift tickets for use in the 2013/2014 season (non holiday)
4. Mention on the map/scorecard
