HEAR YE!!! HEAR YE!!!

Looking for a new disc golf experience from the TDSA? Want to be a part of a brand new disc golf league? Dare to be called a division champion? Aint got a lot of money? Then look no further!

How it works:

There will be four basic divisions: PRO, ADV, INT, and NOV.
o There will be a review of past experience (tournaments and minis) for players who wish to play in NOV or INT.
 NOV scores AVERAGE above par Riverside/Moose Run
 INT scores AVERAGE 0-5 below par at Riverside/Moose Run
 Womens and Master offered, if enough interest
o For a division to be active there must be at least four players registered and paid.
o There are no limits to how many can join
Players will compete at five major courses for the duration of the league season
o Riverside, Hunter, Haikey, Chandler Moose, Chandler Bear
Season is an estimated two to three months long
o All major courses will have at least four days scheduled to play, with multiple plays per day at specific times
 NO MULLIGANS ALLOWED, EVER
o Unless it is mini-specific, and explicit (such as a Riverside Mini)
o League-specific events will NEVER allow mulligans
Players can play each course as many times as it is offered during league play
o Only the two lowest scores [revolving] will be kept for records
To qualify for a division championship, you MUST have two rounds recorded for each course
Division champions are calculated by the lowest total sum of all five courses combined
o A total of ten scores (lowest two from each course) will be used
League champion is determined by a handicapped playoff system
Championship course is a random drawing, after the regular season is over, to determine course
o Course will be one of the five major courses previously used for scoring
Handicaps will be given to division winners based off of an average of their two lowest scores
Players will play two rounds at the same course to determine overall winner

How it pays out:

Each DIVISIONAL winner receives a free entry into the 2012 Tulsa Ice Bowl and $25 in plastic (Pro gets $25 cash), and other potential goodies (such as a bag tag)
Each DIVISIONAL 2nd place receives $15 in plastic, (Pro division receives $15 cash)
League CHAMPION receives choice entry in Tulsa area tournament next Spring (Showdown Lodge, Pro/Am, Am Jam etc) and league winner memorabilia (such as a bag tag)
All prizes can receive a relative bump in value if more players join each division.

League Fees:

$20 entry fee for ALL divisions
No additional fees if event is played during a mini
 League-specific events (non-minis)have minimal fees
o $1 cost for the event
o $1 cost for ace pot
o $1 cost for CTP

All ace pots at LEAGUE SPECIFIC events (NON-minis) are revolving
o i.e. if no one throws an ace at one event, the ace pot pours into the next event, even if its at a separate course.
o If no one hits an ace the entire league season, then half of the proceeds will go towards league prizes and the other half will go towards the Tulsa Ice Bowl

NOT A TEAM LEAGUE, INDIVIDUAL COMPETITION ONLY DURING THIS INAGURAL RUN.

If you are interested in playing, please let us know either on this board or on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/98501464510/

There will be more announcements during the final minis of the season. I will be promoting this as much as I can when I come back from vacation either next Tues night or Weds.

Tom you have a message!

Sep 13 2011, 08:54 AM
All dates were cross-referenced with planned TDSA events as to not conflict with any of them. Bear in mind that if a TD wishes to use a specific date for a mini, and it's at the same course, then the league fees will be waived and the mini score, that a league member throws, will be used for your league round that day.

There are 5 scheduled opportunities to play at each course, remember that you need at least TWO rounds at each course to qualify for your division championship.

I'll put it this way....I had several people show up last night at Hunter ready to put $20 down for the league, but I asked them to hold off until tonight at Chandler (Bear BTW). We need more committments (aka paying members) before this thing can get started.

Tonight is the last chance to do it.

If we get 12 people to sign up tonight, there is a league, otherwise we'll just have to hold off until next year and try something a little different and get some more input/ideas.

So bring your $$$, show up early, tell your friends, tell your wife, tell your kids, hide yo' wife, hide yo' kids....sorry side tracked....and let's see if we can get this thing off the ground.

If someone would be so kind as to post this to Facebook, I'd appreciate it (I don't have access there on my work computers).

TOMORROW EVENING, LAST TEE IS AT 1730 @ RIVERSIDE!!!

We get to kickoff the Fall League season right, looks like beautiful weather, a great list of entrants (and more coming BTW).

I'll be working extra hard to ensure that everyone gets their league standings updated WEEKLY (at the latest) on Mondays. This will include leaders, the combined lowest scores at each course for each player, and how the cash/prizes are looking.

Gotta run some errands before this thing kicks off, getting excited!:D

Please make SURE that you arrive early! I will be there at 1700 (maybe a little earlier), and I WILL be teeing off on my card at 1730.

If you show up a little later, you can run around the course and try to find me, but you have to rush your round in as daylight fades way too soon these days. :( I will be sending off players in groups of three, and obviously flex starts are A-OK with me!

I recommend all players bring $1 bills, as I won't have a ton of change on me.

If someone couple post this on facebook, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks to EVERYONE who came out, we had a total of 12 people show up for the inaugural event of the league. BEAUTIFUL weather, and everyone showed up early and on-time!

Here are the results from tonight;

Nicody Tucker 44 [ACED #14 - won $11]
Mike Treat 47
Fred Falis 48
Sean Gaither 50 [CTP winner - $11]
Joseph Copenhaver 53
Chuck Williams 53
Drew Custer 54
Tom Reese III 55
Joe Deere 57
Scott Lindenau 57
James Miles 58
Guy Kessler 71

There were a couple of cards that had some incorrect math, one of them was my card (which was completely my fault). If your name is below your score was adjusted accordingly;

James Miles
Guy Kessler
Joseph Copenhaver

I won't be announcing that every round, just wanted you guys to be aware. Thanks again to all who showed up!

Chuck Williams has moved up into PRO, I have moved up into ADV.

The correct way to promote your event on my mountain is to be bold and start with....

TONIGHT!!!...TONIGHT!!!...TONIGHT!!!

Otherwise I might just have to bring my hippy-self out there and fart up the place.:)

Why somebody is not running more night events out there during this nice cool weather I don't know but most everybody I know has a supply of lights and you only need like 3 discs to play Bears Lair in the dark anyway.

They must be afraid of the "Manson Moose" that stalks the woods out there.

You could run your deal from 5-7:30 and someone could run another from 8-11pm.

ATTACK THE BEAR @ 5-530!!!

That's right, its the first league event at the birdie and hippy friendly Chandler Bear. Flex tee times between 5 and 530, maybe a little earlier too...

So come on out and attack the snarlin' beast, the ace pot is up to a whopping $21!

Its good strategy to get your first scores in at each course early on, puts the pressure on the competition. By the end of the month we'll have a good preview of competitive rounds going into the heavy month of November.

See you all there!

‎***UPDATED THE LEAGUE SCHEDULE***

There was a conflicting date @ Chandler on Nov 12th, i have switched that date with Riverside from the 19th.

BE ADVISED, look for "hot rounds" to potentially occur at every weekend event in November! Hot rounds will occur when; the TD is willing to play another round, and when there are at least FOUR persons total who are wanting to get another round in. All usual fees etc apply for hot rounds.

So if you were worried that you cant get enough rounds in, no need to fret or frown!

this weeks CTP will be a little extra sweet; I'm donating two OSU canvas covered Kleenex boxes to the winners (one each). The charity is for Arubah clinic in downtown Collinsville. Its a medical clinic, sponsored by my church, that focuses on giving medical treatment to the poor and marginalized in Collinsville/Owasso.

Good luck to all, and If people like them I may donate two more later on for OU fans.

League members, in about 36 hours, or less, you'll be seeing the complete list of cash and prizes that could win this season, along with HOW to win some of the prizes! I have even added some value to the vast treasure chest from my own collection.

If you haven't signed up yet, Eddie Stanke, or just want the rights to buy the patches, Jesse Crew, TOMORROW is you LAST chance! Get out to Moose and pay the $20!

Some prizes you have to win, some you have to earn, some you have to be lucky, and some are just plain give-aways (from my own pocket, not league money). For all those who aren't participating, you will be quite sad when you see the goods!

I listened very closely to what everyone has been talking about the last several months, how Ams want cash too, how pros want more than just cash, how overall performance should be valued and not just a one-weekend fluke or failure. Trust me, EVERYONE has a chance to win something, but don't be deceived, WINNERS will be rewarded with GREAT prizes, ESPECIALLY the overall champion!

See you all tomorrow...

***UPDATED CALENDAR***

Because of the scheduling conflict between the TDSA Fall Picnic on Sunday, November 13th, the league event is moved from Haikey to Bear. The league event will start at 215 instead of 2. Anyone is free to play in the doubles event at 215 if they wish, but the league event will remain open for LEAGUE MEMBERS ONLY.

Haikey is rescheduled for December 4th @ 2 (just a straight swap).

What a great turnout! Joe W got CTP for $21 and a dx leopard, no aces were hit. We only have one schedule event left to get Moose in, and there are SEVERAL of you with 0 rounds in! Its a good thing that day is a double rounder!

Preview night went well, many of you oogled at the fancy and rare discs that ANY of you could win, and Lee Joshua gave me a great idea for the league champion, a very nice bronze feather that would attach to a set of beads, something that you have to EARN! I will NOT sell those to any disc golfer!

Standings will be updated next week after the weekend rounds are in, prize document will be uploaded very soon! Thanks to Eddie Stanke for signing up and donating a sweet prize to the league! And the other new member who signed up tonight was Charlie Swoop.

Next even is this Thursday @ Bear, LAST TEE IS AT 430 SHARP!!! James Miles will be running the show for the next three events, see you next Saturday!

HEAR YE HEAR YE!!!

The BEAR will be attacking YOU this evening between 4-430. DO NOT show up at 5 or 530 expecting to play (it'll be dark near then, and plus the last tee time...again...is 430).

Ole James Miles is spearheading the next three events while I am out of town, so look for him to collect your fees and hand out cards.

P.S. the patches are IN and look great! Available to all LEAGUE MEMBERS for $3. These are a very limited run and will not be sold to "outsiders".

See you all later!

Is it too early to discuss the 2012 TDSA Fall League? I think not! So without any further delay…..lets hop right into it;

#1 Five new-to-the-League courses; McClure, Centennial, NSU, Claremore, and……Blackhawk. NSU and Claremore are “tentative” pending when they get their additional 9 holes in, we would play the 9 hole course layouts, but don’t want include them if the 9 hole additions occur during the league season; backups are Dovillio and Redhawk.

#2 The price for the league will be $30; this includes a 2012 TDSA Fall League patch [yet to be designed]

#3 All divisions will be locked down to 15 total entries each, 2011 League members have first right of refusal: previous league member enrollment starts July 1st 2012, and the deadline for early League member signups is July 31st 2012. Previous league members enjoy a $5 discounted rate of $25 to join [patch is included]. Masters division WILL be offered, but must have at least four entries prior to late enrollment.

#4 On August 1st, the League is open for all to enroll. “Late” enrollment starts the day that the first event is played [most likely early October], any “late” entry will be $35. Don’t like the late fee? You have almost a whole year to be ready for this, so no excuses or whining.

#5 THERE ARE NO VERBAL RESERVATIONS, FIRST COME IS FIRST SERVED! THIS INCLUDES THE EARLY SIGNUPS OF LEAGUE MEMBERS! The only exception is if you volunteer to help run the events, much like James Miles is doing this season. You MUST be COMMITTED to run 5 events to volunteer (and there are nice perks too).

#6 Where does the “increased/extra fee” money go? Right into the prize pool, directly into league funds. I do not get paid for this, neither do my volunteers.

#7 Be on the lookout, the TDSA League will be presenting PRO clinics open to ALL disc golfers (of course, league members get first dibs). Want better technique, putting, footwork? Group sessions, personalized “hands-on” time, local pros, and very low cost [think $10 for around a 2 hour session]. All funds go into the league prize fund and into helping our local pros get to their tournaments! More details to come on that later…

#8 Last, but definitely not least…..I will have an additional option next Fall…..TEAMS. Details are also forthcoming, but you have to be a league member to get into the teams competition.

Let the hype-beasting begin….for any concerns/comments, please email [email protected]

exception: if a buddy pays for your entry, you can show up late and get your round(s) in, perfectly acceptable.

Shame on you guys for trying to profit and miss-lead the masses that there are 401k's and old age pensions available for pro players. The guys working at Mickey-D's will make more over the long term and still be able to draw unemployment not to mention health insurance.:p

The most pro players can probably expect is a free 1 night stay at the PDGA home office in Georgia and maybe their ashes spread over the courses there.:D

Blah blah blah. If it were meant for fortune then we'd be playing ball golf ;)

Its a modest price that helps them pay for gas and the other half will go right back into league funds for 2012.

I suppose I could use some of the 1%'s wealth to provide a soup kitchen for chandlerstock in 2012. Those poor discgolfers just want a mere $60 players pack and only pay in $20, let those filthly rich pros pay their fair share! The division between rec and pro is the furthest it has ever been, where did all the INT/ADV players go? Filthy greed pros, expecting money for time....

Go bang on a trashcan and occupy chandler :)

"Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong. That is your oath."

Chandler Park is a "No-Mooch" park yet I notice your league has been "mooching" up there alot. Even against some TDSA sponsored events.

It's called "Moose Run" not "Mooch Run". Take those "Panhandlers" somewhere else. And make sure Dorries reports any "clinic" income on his taxes.

If those guys had REAL jobs they wouldn't have to worry about gas money. Tell them to ride the bus.:D

Ams Rule!!!...Pros drool!!!

It's hard enough playing in those Am divisions without having some "mooch" trying to ride your coatails and your payout.:p If those pros want to play for big money then why don't they just come up with it themselves like professional poker players?

Everything I've done with the league has been for the betterment of the TDSA and its surrounding community. I suggest if any admin/TD thinks I purposefully conflicted a date at ANY time then can get with me and discuss it.

I've asked nothing from the TDSA except for permission and a schedule prior to developing the league, and everything was posted with ZERO conflicts. In return, they are receiving a nice check from the league courtesy of their player community. Pretty nice deal if you ask me.

Or you could stop sipping your rum and 'nog prior to 9am, brain cells need a few more hours to warm-up with all the mileage you've put them through ;-)

Well, .... I was drunk when I wrote that resignation letter so consider it the "5 second rule" and let me back in.;)

It sucks not knowing who's blowing money on what, losing the TDSA paid lap dances at Nightrips, and what our yearly budget is for 2012. I didn't care too much for being part of the TDSA corruption and secret society when I was on the inside. But I really miss the back stabbing, "Hush" money, free discs, and other perks now that I'm on the outside.:(

It was probably Norris and those Treat guys that finally axed me wasn't it? They have been out to get me from day one.:)

TDSA scheduling for normal minis are worked one month in advance.
I.E. the November board meeting set the December Schedule.

However The Club Picnic and Annual meeting is ALWAYS scheduled (since the parks department started the United Way kick off) the Sunday after the United Way Kick Off.

Further TDSA ALWAYS schedules minis ever month on weekends (Saturday and Sunday) unless there is an actual tournament event.

o a little heads up for all you leaguers out there, here is how the divisions look as far as those that can complete all 10 rounds;
PRO – 4
ADV – 6
INT – 6
NOV – 6
WOMEN – 2

Tomorrow closes out Riverside, next Saturday is Hunter and Haikey, and Sunday is Haikey. READ CAREFULLY, only ONE round at Hunter/Haikey will be offered on Saturday, and only ONE round of Haikey will be offered on Sunday. James is running the show all next weekend, don't bug/ask/pester/harass him to add more rounds, because it ain't happening.

Now read this carefully, this means the total number of players, per division, that can finish all 10 rounds to qualify for the division championship. You do NOT have to finish all 10 rounds to get 2nd/3rd place (but you do have to have as many rounds as you can get in with a lower score than your competitors). I’m not going to tell who those people are, it’s up to you to keep on track with what you need and for me to show the updated information on a weekly basis. For the rest of you, there are still plenty of reasons to come out; birdie challenge, ace pot, CTP prizes etc.

The following people have yet to pay for and pick up their patches, if you do not pay for them by December 4th then they will be sold to those who want doubles/triples; Justin, Charlie C, Joe D, TJ, Tanner, Fred, Sean, Wes, Guy, Tim, Eddie, Charlie S, Richard, Blake, Wise. Michael Treat, I got your patch and it’s paid for, consider it a small thank you for your help getting this thing off of the ground.

This is it folks, the final stretch, there’s going to be a lot of stuff given away in two weeks time, looking forward to the culmination of a great inaugural season.

P.S. For the "Most Events" prize, the leader is Nick Blazek with 22, and Nicody has 20. No-one else can compete for that prize as of tonight. There are 3 events left...

rankings updated, if your name is still listed then you can still STATISTICALLY achieve at least 3rd place, if everything falls together for you. If your name is not listed on the birdie race, it means there is too little possibility for you to catch up, although I still have everyone's count in cast some of you go on a tear of 40 birds the last 54 holes. Good luck to all, this is it!
