Dynamic Discs is selling the Super Puppy and telling me via email that it is PDGA approved, but the item is branded Destiny Discs.

Is there any reason why this disc would be illegal in tournament?

Also, they have a Wham-O 77 mold for sale that is 182g, but the PDGA list of approved discs says that the max weight for the Wham-O 77 is 180.1g.

Would this disc be illegal to use in tournament?

Thanks.

Jennifer,
call Rusco and ask him. Or email him; he's a guy you can trust. I don't know why it wouldn't be legal, but I don't claim to have that knowledge without consulting someone.
Now, the 77 mold is a different story. It does specifically it's for Super Class. Again, I'm no expert, but that would seem that it's not standard PDGA approved.

The Super Puppy is most definitely legal for tournament play (in the weights offered).
I have carried one ever since the re-issue of the classic. Think of it as a golf-disc-sized lid (like an UltraStar). It is a great approach disc. The deep lip grabs and won't slide or skip. It also holds whatever line you put it on.
The Puppy and Super Puppy were THE discs to have before Innova came out with the Aero. Discs from before the weight limit was enacted can weigh alot more than the 175 limit. I have a Puppy that is 269g! The Birdie and the Rattler were feeble attempts to copy the Super Puppy.
Get one and find out!

The 77 mold is not a Superclass disc. It's a modified Innova Stingray mold, so it doesn't have the blunt edge or wide diameter that Superclass requires.
