In a matter of months I will be moving for 2 years to a little island in the Philippine sea called Saipan. It isn't really close to anything but is probably closer to Japan than anything. I'm wondering if there are any disc golfers from that area that can tell me where I could get equipment from in that area? My understanding is that there are no courses on Saipan, but I know Japan has multiple courses. Where does Japan get there baskets from? Do they have a disc or basket maker in Japan? What would it cost to ship a basket to Saipan? Also, I know that Saipan has multiple ball golf courses and wonder if they would be open to trying out disc golf as well. Does anyone here have experience in that area? Any information or help would be great, I just can't imagine leaving my DG bag in America for the next 2 years. Thank you.

Try www.herodiscusa.com . He/they are based out of Japan and that website should be a good start to get in touch with him/them.

As for the golf courses, talk to the person who is responsible for profits and losses - usually the top boss. Explain that disc golf can get some incremental [use that word] revenue out of their unused land (if any), or underutilized times of the week or year (if any).

If all else fails, they should be willing - at some price - to rent the whole facility to you for a day.

PM me and I can send you a pamphlet you can print and use.

Don't leave your bag in America! There is always some place to at least throw. Set up your own object course. I can see it now: Coconut Grove DGC.
