We're doing it again! This Sunday, May 1st, will be the day for the 2nd Goat Hill monthly. This time we'll be playing under the umbrella of the "World's Biggest Disc Golf Weekend", John Houck's annual worlwide disc golf-fest and charity fundraiser. A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to EDGE (Educational Disc Golf Experience) and the work they do getting disc golf into our schools.

You can sign up on-line at: http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/tournament-dashboard.cfm/tourn_id/191 (http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/tournament-dashboard.cfm/tourn_id/191)

Don't expect to be able to sign up on Sunday - we need to have a count of players on Saturday for the Goat Hill folks so they can figure out how many ball golfers can play before we shut down the course. Registration closes Saturday at 9pm, or when the field fills up.

Registration includes two rounds of golf with a cart. Burgers, brats and beverages will be on sale during the first round and during the 30-minute break between rounds. Loosen up your arm and join us Sunday!

Scores and standings for the monthly are now posted on DiscGolfU.com @ http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/tournament-dashboard.cfm/tourn_id/191 (http://www.discgolfunited.com/disc-golf-tournaments/tournament-dashboard.cfm/tourn_id/191)

Micah Dorius fired a secound-round 55 to catch and pass Carlo Pelg and Derek Robbins on the final 3 holes of the second round for the win in Open, over a field of 19 players. Micah sealed the win with an impressive 35-foot sidehill putt just as the sun was setting. Natalie Cook is so far the only Ladies division winner we've had at Goat Hill, as she won again this month with back-to-back 67's. John Kirkland outlasted the youngsters in the Pro Masters division, his second-round 59 enough to catch and pass 1st-round leader Deano Porter.

It pays to be a San Diego Aces Course Representative - Course Reps Daniel Lichtman, Aaron Van Matre and Mark Verrochi finished 1,2,3 in the 17-player MA1 division. And popular local Tom Vincent blew away the MA2 field, winning by 9 shots.

Fifty-four players enjoyed a very windy, but fun afternoon of disc golf at Goat Hill, raising $100 for EGDE along the way. The monthlies are proving to be quite popular, between the great golf course, fun competition and between-round burgers and brats. There was even a beverage cart sighting during the second round. Registration for the June monthly will open up later this week at DiscGolfU.com. Spots will fill fast, and there will not be day-of sign-ups for these events.

Oh, and for the next monthly...there will be new rubber tee pads!
