PDGA Approved the new Cam Realty Ion disc today. Picture and specs here: http://www.pdga.com/tech-standards
Looks like it might be a soft putter based on the rounded rim config and flex value. I don't know anything more about the disc or company than what was posted.

i heard that when this disc hits the ground, you see a flash of light, a small mushroom cloud, and then scorched earth from where it landed.
that and trying to throw this thing wearing a radiation suit is a little complicated.

Traditionally, the Tech Standards group doesn't characterize the discs and leaves that to the manufacturers. You can tell pretty well what they are from looking at the specs and sometimes the photos posted.

Nah -mom was Puerto Rican - I lived in FL (home of the Suwanee River) and AZ and picked up spanish through osmosis - so I think it's cool when someone can work it cleverly into stuff - just as your punditry and intelligence have me searching through dictionaries at times - as it gives me hope after dealing with people with no common sense all day, that there are clever and witty disc golfers out there too.
It's just too bad that most of them got banned, or just don't post anymore (like Felix) :(

I find the use of the EDGE name for a disc rather Ironic.
About 7 years ago we released a disc and called it the Edge , soon after got a call from a guy name Jon Lykset who was working on the E.D.G.E program who said we couldn't use this name as it could cause a problem with his educational disc golf curriculum.
I checked around and found out several disc golf clubs had or were already using the name EDGE, but decided to avoid the controversy,,,and changed the name of the disc to the Speed demon.
Hmmmmmm,,,

Lame Rule as it only applies if seen. Another thread for this though
I don't know what the other thread is, but I agree that the change was very questionable. It introduces a judgement call when there was previously no need. I have seen discs enter the basket in a lot of funky ways and get wedged from inside out. How far away does the group have to be to "see".

Dec 28 2010, 02:43 AM
I kind of liked the rule "supported by the basket or chains", which doesn't leave room for whether or not someone observed the direction of the wedge.
If the rule has officially changed already than my feeling is if it is NOT observed than it should be good,, is that the way the rule reads?
