Here's my free nugget of the day.

Create a new "division" for Waitlist. WL, W8, 2LT, NXT... that way the wait list can go into a division called "Waitlist". Alternately, you can choose not to count the number on the waitlist in the tourney, so there aren't 113 in a 90 person tournament.

thanks for posting this. i have been thinking this for years. i have never understood why the TD report and tournament page on the website does not allow for a Waitlist. With the growing popularity of the sport i think there is a definite need. GREAT POST!

plus... when the tournament report goes in, you could have a nice stat that shows "desire" not just capacity of the tournament. And it is better for statistics "we usually overfill our tournaments, so we should think about offering an option that allows more players"
