A truly magnificent and magical place to be: HORSESHOE CANYON ICE BOWL!!

On February 26th WAFDA is very honored to present the long running and original "Arkansas Ice Bowl" with the 2011 Horseshoe Canyon Ice Bowl at the beautiful Horseshoe Canyon Ranch in Jasper, Arkansas.

Long time TD Jeff Ash will still be there as a player this year and also doing Firework shows on that Friday and Saturday night, though it's not necessary to stay overnight, cabins may be rented, for more info about what many consider to be the most beautiful disc golf course in the world please visit www.gohcr.com (http://www.gohcr.com/)

Our charity continues to be the Newton County Christian Food Room, $5 from each entry fee, all proceeds from mulligans, the famous silent auction, donations and profits made from merchandise from am payouts or sales will go directly to charity, there is also a $5 greens fee to Horseshoe Canyon Ranch (which they have been known to donate back a portion to the charity however no guarantees), all remaining entry money will be used for am prizes and pro cash payouts back to the players.

Please consider donating any items of value to our silent auction, there has usually always been a very nice selection of collectors and normal plastic plus disc golf gear and other interesting items.

I'd like to encourage everyone to support as many Ice Bowl events that you can, all for fun and a great cause, feeding the hungry.....we'll see ya on the courses!!

Are there still cabins available at Horse Shoe??

as of now, there are 2 of the smaller cabins left as well as the Tee Pee -
camping is also offered and there might be space in the bunk houses

if Horseshoe Canyon Cabins fill - there are other cabin's and facilities not far off - search the internet for around Jasper, Arkansas

Things you'll need to know:

1. There will be meals available at the lodge for Fri. Night, Sat. Breakfast and Lunch as well as a nice affordable dinner - I would suggest bringing some extra food for Sunday and convenience for yourselves

this is in a very rural area with no close by stores - bring what you need for the week-end

2. as always this is a very informal and very non-sanctioned event with an emphasis on fun and friendship

3. rolling starts available from 8am till 11ish - sign up and form your own group, if you need help finding a group to play with we will help you out

4. Mulligans: sold in 6 packs, $6 per 6 pack or a max of 18 for $15 (choice mulligans - 1 per hole, use it or lose it)

5. plan on a 4 hr+ round of awesome disc golf in beautiful surroundings (Ice Bowl is only 1 round)

6. we will do awards during dinner in the Lodge as well as the silent auction running till right before awards - very nice to have the lodge for this

7. we will also be raffling off a Discatcher Sport - everyone receives a raffle ticket on entry with additional raffle tickets sold for the charity

8. FIREWORKS SHOW!! Friday & Saturday Night by The Jeff Ash

if you are coming and have ANYTHING you are willing to donate to the Silent Auction - please do!!

I'm so looking forward to this!! :)

The Restaurant will be open on Fri. Night for dinner

Breakfast will be served on Saturday & Sunday

There will be no lunch served on Saturday, if someone really wants something get with the Canyon Staff that morning and they'll see what they can do

Dinner will be available on Saturday night - we will end the Famous Silent Auction during dinner followed by the Awards Ceremony in the Lodge

(anyone looking to get on the road early - I'll provide payouts as soon as possible)

Check-out from the cabins is 11am and other visitors are coming in on Sunday so we need to be cleared from the cabins by then

People are welcome to hang out and enjoy the course on Sunday we just need to be out of the cabins so they can be cleaned

A Super Good Week-End is coming :D
