Just wanted to get a little discussion going so you ladies can start making your plans for 2012!

I know it's a little early...but good planning never hurts!

Here's a link to the Facebook Page (http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=158909017486275) for the event.

Just to whet your appetite......here are a couple of comments after the 2008 USWDGC run by the SAME CREW in the SAME CITY! The ROCket City!

"It was great having such large fields of competitors, and the fantastic payout,
but the best part was the people and courses in Huntsville. Thanks to Chris and
the entire staff for a job well done. The volunteers did a fantastic job. The
amount of work they put into the courses was beyond belief. The courses were all
in beautiful shape with custom flags flying on every basket. The grass was freshly
cut and OB lines were painted and flagged at all the courses. There were pop-up
shelters set up on most tee pads with free water and sports drinks at nearly every
single hole. The work they did for the players was amazing, too. Not only did they
add cash but they added EVERYTHING! They had overflowing player packs for the Pros
and Ams. There were CTP's every round. There was free food and drink for lunch and
even dinner too! There were so many volunteers they almost outnumbered the competitors.
The Alabama folks were super friendly and took care of anything the we needed.
I hope Huntsville runs the USWDGC again and/or the Worlds. I know I won't miss it!!!
Again, great courses, great payout, great company and great volunteers means
HUNTSVILLE ROCS!!!"

"If you missed this tournament YOU MISSED OUT! It was far and away the best
Nationals so far. This is going to be a hard act to follow. We had awesome lunches
every day and even pizza at the awards ceremony. The courses were pristine and there
were score keepers for every card. I am amazed at the HUGE payout!! Chris, you and your
team rocked the tournament! I am so proud of all of y'all. Please put in a bid to have it
in Huntsville again. I don't think anyone could have put on a better show or will again for
a really long time. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!"

On a related note, we are hammering out date and details but I will be holding a USWDGC fundraiser at Flyboy Aviation in the spring.

We are looking at cinco de Mayo so you know it will be a good time.

Unsanctioned, men and women, half of men's entry to women's payout.

Payout will be USWDGC entries, hotels, gas money, etc...whatever we can provide. I want to do this like the guys get for USDGC.

More details coming soon.

Bill, I know the great job you do with the women's events. Count me in for a sponsorship and some CTP's.

Reminder to Foreign Nationals: You MUST register by August 17, 2012! If you are a citizen of any other country besides the United States (even if you have dual citizenship), you MUST register by 8/17/12 or we cannot guarantee you access to all courses. This could prevent you from competing in Women's Nationals. Ladies, if you know anyone who is a foreign national and planning to compete, please pass along this message!

For those women disc golfers who are in town for the USWDGC, we have Women's League every Wednesday at Brahan Springs. We will be starting around five fifteen or so, and it is free. It is a handicapped, and women of all skill levels are welcome to play. Please come join us, practice, and have fun tomorrow!

I appreciate the hard work marking the OB on Sparkman already. What's the rule for the drop zone on 5? Anything you can share about the other courses? I didn't see any lines painted for the dry creek at Brahan. Any plans regarding that?

I would like to thank everybody who helped Chris to put on this national championship. He couldn't have done it without you, and we greatly appreciate all of your hard work and effort. We can't thank you enough!

Too bad the general public can not watch the final day.

UAH and Redstone were absolutely the two best places in Huntsville to have a final nine for that caliber. Redstone has a pavillion and is a great place for the last round and the final nine. Every player had the opportunity to submit names to access the arsenal. UAH gives top priority to university events even though we have permission to hold a disc golf event there. They schedule university events on top of us, and we have had problems in the past with that. We certainly weren't going to take that chance with this PDGA major.

Too bad. It would not be good to have a Cross Country team running across a fairway.
We have seen that happen down here. Sounds like more ladies will be going next time.
Great job. Always good to see those happy faces at the end.
