A new course is being built at Linbrook Park in Franklin Park Boro (minutes from the Wexford ecxit off I-79). The course is 8 minutes from Knob Hill. It should come out to be a Par 61 - 64. Most of the design is complete and work has begun on clearing the fairways. If anyone is interested in helping, feel free to come out any day that you can. I will be there quite a bit over the next month. Send me an email at deitzel at hotmail.com to get more info.

Here are some pictures of hole 5.

These first pictures are of the approach to the green. The hole is a dogleg right that probably plays around 580 feet. The pins will be past the large oak tree in the photo. You can see the massive amount of work done in about an hour! Construction of the course is moving rapidly.

The first picture is looking back at the tee of hole 5. The tree in the center of the gap will be removed.

The 2nd picture is looking towards the green from the closest fallen tree that can be seen in the previous picture.

And the third pictures shows what it looked like from the log before the clearing.

Hole 1. looking back at the tee. Long tees are across the road on top of the hill. Nice par 3 hole to start the round. It will be tough to card a 2 from the long tees on this downhill -> uphill shot through a tight fairway. The fairway then opens up into a beautiful green area reminiscent of Hole 8 at Moraine. A bunch of limbs will still need to be cut in the entrance to the fairway from the long tee, but the rest of the hole is ready to go.

The first picture is looking back at the tee from halfway down the fairway and the 2nd picture is looking back down the fairway from just before the green.

Hole #2. This hole is about 280 - 340 feet slightly downhill with a fast green. The fairway is mostly straight. A beautiful hole on top of a ridge with a sloping fairway on both sides. A good straight drive will be rewarded with a birdie while shots that miss the gap will be punished severely.

The first picture is looking down the fairway from the tee. This hole had so many trees lying across the fairway it was almost hard to imagine a hole ever being built through this land. A few hours later it was a reality.

The 2nd and 3rd picture are from near the green looking back up the fairway.

The 4th picture is of the green area.

Here is the beginning of hole 3. It is a long par 4 on flat land with a creek running parallel to the fairway. Really cool pin locations on this hole.

The search for sponsorship money begins. We are looking for donations in any amount. Ideally we will get 18 hole sponsors at $500 each. That will cover the cost of the basket, 3 anchors per hole and the concrete.

Anyone who puts up $500 will have their name permanently displayed on the tee sign on their hole of choice.

Money for three holes has been collected. Thanks to the PFDS, The Merriman family and myself, we now have $1500 raised for the basket fund.

If anyone is interested in coming to check out the course, send me a message. The first 5 holes are mostly playable now.

Hole 8 was cleared, hole 7 clearing has begun around the green area. Here are some photos. I would love to show anyone around who is interested in checking out the course.

These pictures here are of Hole 8. The hole is a par 4 that starts in the woods curving right into a wide open area. The landing area is just past the open area on the hole in the woods. The hole continues another 275 feet through the woods curving right all the way to the pin. The fairway slopes left the entire hole.

The first picture is from near the middle tee. the 3rd and 4th photo are from near the green looking back out towards the open area. And the last picture is from the long tee.

Major work done today. The chipper was out clearing out the last of the debris on hole 1. Just need to remove a few trees at the long tee and we should be done with work on the hole except for the tees, signs and pin installation.

Hole 2 has had most of the debris removed from the sides of the fairway. We begain chipping today. Lots of dead pines were cut down also today. Quite a few more trees were removed as well. Tomorrow we will be out there finishing the chipping on this hole. Should be finished by the end of the day.

If you can come out tomorrow anytime between 9:00 - 2:30 we could use your help. Just bring gloves. No other tools needed.

4 major days of work with the work crew and a few volunteers. Thanks to KB Clark, Mark Yokim, Josh Deily, Dave Muchicko, and Sean Bolen for coming out this week to help. Lori says that if the rest of you don't make it out to help soon, that she will not allow you to play the course EVER!!!

1st three holes should have baskets installed in the next 2 - 4 weeks!!!!!

Holes 1-3 are now cleared, chipped and ready for play. 3 baskets have been ordered!!! Pins should be installed for the first 3 holes withing the next 2 weeks. Looking for sponsors to help pay for the rest of the baskets. $500 a hole will get your name on the tee sign permanently. Help us get another course in the ground!
