The following divisions will be offered:

Open ~ $20
Advanced ~ $20
Intermediate ~ $20
Recreational ~ $20

Format: 2 rounds of 18-holes:

Open ~ Blue Tees (both rounds)
Advanced ~ Blue Tees (Rd 1); White Tees (Rd 2)
Intermediate ~ White Tees (both rounds)
Recreational ~ Red Tees (both rounds)

*This is a fund-raising event benefiting The Hunt at Deer Lakes (Sept 25)*
No cash payout/No prize payout (100% of the entry fees to be donated to The Hunt)

Trophies awarded to 1st and 2nd place competitor in each division.
1st place winners will also receive a commemorative bag-tag!

** Closest-To-Pin prizes for all divisions! Free raffle prizes!

Mark your calendar as this will be the third annual course championship at Deer Lakes Park! We will utilize The Hunt's tournament pin positions so not only will we be raising money for our fall event, the course championship be an excellent opportunity to practice the 18-hole layout in a competitive setting.

This event is open to anyone who wishes to participate...players do not have to be a PFDS member to play in this event. Besides trophies, bag-tags and other prizes, there is one thing the divisional winners will also take away from this championship........braggin' rights!

Players Picnic for PFDS Members: Again this year we will have a players picnic between rounds. PFDS members eat for free. Non-members pay a $5 fee. The PFDS is providing burgers & hot dogs, however, players will need to provide their own beverages. We are also asking players to bring some tasty deserts/snacks to share with fellow members.

Donated prizes: We will be offering CTP prizes for the separate divisions so everyone has a chance to win. We will also have a free raffle following the awards (yes, it will be a "white elephant" type of raffle where you want to be the last name pulled out of the hat). If you have any disc golf merchandise you would like to donate, please bring it with you to the tournament to be used as CTP or raffle prizes.

Please note: the day before the course championship (Saturday, August 21) we will be pouring concrete to install the remaining tee pads. The course is very close to being finished, but we need volunteers to make it happen. Not many folks have showed up for the Monday or Thursday night work days so far. We need volunteers to work this coming Monday (8/16) and Thursday (8/19) to help install the forms so we're ready for the concrete truck at 8:00 am on Saturday, August 21. Please.....mark your calendar as a reminder. More details will be provided on a separate thread. Thanks! :)

We will be in need of two or three charcoal grills for the Players Picnic between rounds. If you have a portable grill, please bring it. Charcoal would nice if you have that, too!

The only place to be this weekend is Deer Lakes!

Saturday (8/21) ~ Concrete pour. Truck arrives bright and early at 8:00 am. We need you to help finish the tee pad project.

17 players participated in this year's Deer Lakes Course Championship and a total of $330.00 was raised to benefit the upcoming September 25 tournament, The Hunt at Deer Lakes. Morning rain/drizzle may have deterred some people from competing in the event, but by the time registration ended, the rain had stopped and anyone carrying an umbrella during round one was simply carrying a walking stick! The weather turned out to be absolutely perfect! The Players Picnic between rounds was great, too.....big, juicy burgers and hot dogs with all the fixins! :)
