Hey Brian - Your loss if ya don't make this one, 15th is gonna be a very nice one
As to your SN question.........
the SN Series season runs June 1 - May 31, you would be qualified if you'd played in last years Alma Greens, Hell on the Border or Battle at Bell Park
these were all SN Series events that I'd ran, not sure what others in the area you may have played that I didn't run
if you/or anyone else wants in the SN Championships, Am or Pro in Memphis over labor day week-end, you'd better get on their site, make sure you have points and get pre-registered
The 15th Hell on the Border and the 6th Alma Greens are NOT SN Series events
soap box ON.........
I have several issues with the SN series right now, from a players perspective they are great payout events, my problem is they have problems getting results posted (5 or 6 tries, taking 3 to 4 months or never for results to post on their site)
Another huge issue I have is that the $2 fee's, $1.75 go back to the Championships in the division played, the other .25 is used for misc. funding that it takes to run the series (Great!!) however - All PDGA Non-Member Fees are also paid for by that (the $2 fee) and not the players - I find this incredibly unfair to the current PDGA member, even if it were coming from another source, it is still IMHO taking from what should be pro payout
Personally, I'll take $2 and put it towards the future of the sport (EDGE) and give the donating player a chance to win cool stuff in the raffle (Over $1700 retail at Alma) rather than paying for some so called Pro player that's not a current member of our sports governing association - the PDGA does alot to grow the sport, what does the SN do other than provide a big money payout.....
Not to mention that when we'd considered hosting a combined SN Championship the board let us know that it would never allow a combined Pro/Am championship..........I guess unless no one else wanted to do it and Memphis must be considered not as equal as Arkansas, even after WAFDA helping with 2 SN Pro Championships in Arkansas and raising over $1,000 in sponsorship for those 2 events, not counting the 8 SN Series events I've ran
that is why, unless these issues wind up getting fixed, I am no longer supporting the SN Series
soap box OFF

Did a little research on the Southern Nationals since i last posted on this page. Turns out i am 7th on the waiting list to get in. SOoooo, That makes it an easy decision. Play Hell on the Border and spend all my cash in Ft. Smith, lol.
Really hope it's not as hot as it will be this weekend. 102 or 103 could make for some stressfull golfin'.

Thanks Martin, yes, I figured out the tee times on how to make it work on the PDGA results page - should be a normal part of the Normal PDGA Excel TD Report, it only took me about 1/2 of a day :p
so we'll have the PDGA results page for players to check the tee-times on line or the score ports and of course, players can call me Saturday night
Bring your A Game Okies, I predict an Arkie sweep (except for MPM, Carl Rogers is a machine)

Personally i think it would've been more "hellish" if the staff wasnt so d@mn good at keeping the water jugs full, keeping play moving, staying unbelieveably organized, and just flat-out putting on a great show. My first-ever arkansas tourney will definitely not be my last. Hats off to Evan and staff for a great show. Look forward to next year!
