I was thinking about how cool it would be if larger tournaments (A tiers or NTs, maybe the occasional B Tier) provided simple child care during rounds for a little extra money. Most disc golf parks have playgrounds already, and I'm sure alot of ppl, including me, would take advantage of such services....
Just an idea. Maybe this has happened at tournaments before. Any opinions, ideas, comments????

I looked up a company and they gave me a good rate but when I asked for credentials they bailed...so I guess that wasn't a good deal after-all.
I have another day-care that we used to use for our daughter, I am going to ask if they will help out. I will keep you up to date. The other place offered to do upto a dozen kids at $15 a kid which I thought was awesome for the full day.
Probably couldn't subsidize it because it wouldn't be fair to those who didn't need the service but I would call it a very worthwhile expense if you could keep it between $15-20. Also they service would really only be needed for about 3hrs in the morning and 2 or so in the afternoon since pre-meeting, lunch, and even awards could be spent with mommy or daddy.

I have provided Daycare at my tournament. My mom played sitter from players meeting till Lunch and then during the second round. Each parent paid my mom 20.00 for the weekend. It worked for us. The second year I brought in 2 able teenagers. They provided the same service plus- since they were spending the weekend- received extra duckets from parents that wanted to hang at the players party while their kid was napping in the woods.

Day care is evidently sorely needed...don't be like this mom! (http://www.momlogic.com/2010/06/mom_leaves_kid_unattended_while_she_plays_frisbee_ golf.php)

We have decided to do a children's clinic, a round of mini disc golf and then let them play on the playground for my women's tournament. It might be a little extra work but if it will get women to come play then it is worth it.
