Unsanctioned, women only tournament, June 26th, East Roswell Park
NOTE: Unsanctioned will not mean skimpy pay-out, it just means I am trying to get loads of non-PDGA women involved!

Tourney website (http://home.comcast.net/~womensdg/nymphs.htm)

I am running this event in conjunction with the RDGC, Imran will Co-TD with me and Courtney McCoy is going to help out as well. Kevin will be on-hand to set up the pro-am doubles as well.

The details:

Pro- Black tees, $40
Adv-Blue tees, $35
Int-Red tees, $30
Rec-Red tees, $25
Jrs.-Pink tees, $15 (shortened 4,8,16) 1 round only, trophy only

You can see pictures here (http://home.comcast.net/~womensdg/pp.htm)

Doubles will feature a trophy for the winners and the singles round will be paid out like any other tournament.

Payout from Primo Plastic

Being an unsanctioned affair we strongly encourage ADV players to move to pro, you could have a chance to compete against some of the top women pros! We also ask any PDGA experienced woman to move up to allow REC to be a newcomer class for women with no tournament and little playing experience.

Sign up is at disc golf united, you have to register but it is free and easy, if you have any questions let me know:

Sponsorship information:

I have several levels of sponsorship available. I had to pay the piper pretty well to get this venue so I would appreciate you guys stepping up like I know you will. I am also in contact with several major disc golf companies and local businesses so I do not plan on “using” just the disc golf community to fund this event.

While it is an unsanctioned event I am not treating it that way, my goal is to grow this into a TX Women’s style event (which just had 102 competitors). With that I am going after big name sponsors and attendance to hopefully lock them in for future events.
That being said, here are the sponsorship options:

I hate to beg...well not really because it is for the ladies, if this was a dudes tournament I would hate to beg...but selling the last two tee signs or a couple CFR discs would REALLY make my day!!

I am getting really nice signs printed and they WILL be looked at because I am stapling the CTP info above the sign.

Played the course yesterday on our way up to Charlotte and the course looked in amazing shape. I am glad I got to play this course because if i showed up and caddied without getting to play it I would be totally jealous! We are looking forward to this one. See you next weekend.

Oh man, I am glad you got to play and I am glad you liked it. It is a tough course but it is one of the most shaded, and with the temp. the way it is I am glad I picked it.

The event was a great success. 30 ladies came out to play and braved the intense heat and long rounds. 26 women and 4 juniors was the final count.

5 open
6 advanced
4 intermediate
11 recreational
4 juniors

Sarah Stanhope won open with a 55 in the opening round and backed it up with a 56 in the pro-am doubles round even when she had to take 9 of her rec. team-mates drives.

Courtney McCoy & Rachel Conley tied for 2nd in open with 65s.

The pro-am doubles round was a huge success and everyone really seemed to enjoy being paired with a better player. It worked out that the rec players got to all play with pros and advanced players and the intermediate players played among themselves.
