29 players showed up tonight for the Knob Hill Doubles league. League now begins at 6:00 for the next few weeks.

Beginning in June, the doubles league will be starting a points series. Tim and I are finalizing the plans. As of now, each person will get a point for each team that they beat. The A-player and B-player with the most points at the end of the season will win a little bit of cash and a trophy. As an incentive to attend every week, there will be a 10- 20 point bonus to all players who play in every week during the league. We will be starting this in June and will have more info ASAP.

It would be nice to see in the the results who the A players are, and who the B players are as well as the payouts.

Also, if you are going to keep standings, some of the players who are identifying as B players need to move up to A. From everything I've seen in all clubs A = Open/Advance Am and B=Int Am and below. It will never be totally fair, but it could be fairer by enforcing this standard.

Nice Turnout and good fun tonight!

Also not a fan of posting payouts.
I think for the most part all the pro and advanced players play A tier. In my case I may play a few tournaments in advanced but my 880 rating clearly shows I am a recreational to intermediate player at best. I see some people signing up for A that should not be, but that is their choice to make.

Sid, Alanna, and myself played doubles Friday before the Hall of Chains. They group A players with other A players and B players with other B players. Each A and B divisions play for their own payout.

Not that I care...but why are you two "not fans of posting payouts"?

If I was running doubles I would do as they do in Florida.

Everyone gets thrown into the mix and it is just a random draw. Luck of the draw. No 3 stroke handicaps for 2 B-players.

SCOTT

lol.. Don't be a sore loser. If you look at the facts you will see I am quite the opposite. I first started playing Intermediate with a 777 rating (suggested rating is 900-935) in April 09, that was six months after I first picked up a disc. Let me do the math for you on that. The division was 123 points above my rating. Then I first started playing advanced (935+) with a 871 rating. Which is 64 points above my rating. I consistantly play in a division above my rating, so I do not understand how that makes me a bagger. The PDGA ratings system makes it nearly impossible to do so as long as the TD plays by the rules. I guess you consider yourself a bagger since you do not play open (970 suggested minimum) with your 935 rating (which was recently as high as 946) since it is only 35 (previously 24) points above your current rating. I am currently playing in a division 55 points above my rating. Given these facts I guess you consider yourself a bigger bagger than me? lol. For future reference you should do a fact check before instigating an argument with me. I love to debate, I just wish you could have made it more of a challenge.

OK something more serious now.

The Knob Hill Doubles Points Series has begun. We are ironing out the full details. But as of now, each player will get 1 point for each team that they beat. There will be no points given for ties. We will also be giving away bonus points to players that come to every doubles event. We are also considering bonus points for people who play 3 weeks in a row - 3 points, 4 weeks in a row 5-points, etc etc.
