And you can't use certain non-motorized vehicles either, like a bicycle.
From the Competition Manual, 3.5.E:
E. For those players wishing to use a carrying device,
approved carrying devices include disc golf bags, foldable
chairs and push cart companions. No animals, motor
driven or bicycle type devices shall be allowed at all PDGA
events.

I've seen the Bike and Dog used before.......
A guy I know tied his dog to his bag. This was supposed to keep the dog in one place. Later, the dog was seen running all over the place, dragging the bag, discs scattered! I love that dog! :)

I use a old ball golf pull cart. I bolted a piece of plywood to it with Pipe insulation around the edges for padding and hang my Revo Back pack on the plywood and strap it to it. I play in Maine and it rolls nicely threw the woods. Works well. Oh and only cost me the cost of plywood and bolts. You can find old carts and dumps transfer stations.

Has anyone had any success adding an umbrella holder to the go cart? I'm playing a tourny this weekend on a flat fairly open course, and I'm thinking an umbrella will help.

Quick fix duct tape a cardboard tube to the side of it. Future fix weld a pipe to the side. Just have to figure out your depth for the height of umberlla

I bought a 2foot piece of PVC today, zip ties, a screw with bolt, and two velcro straps.
I drilled horizontal holes into the pvc pipe and threaded the zip ties through (both on top and bottom). Drilled a hole in the bottom of the pvc all the way though and installed the screw with bolt that will prevent the umbrella from falling through the bottom. I also drilled a hole about 1/4 the way from the top, all the way through. The screw can be installed on on the top hole to hold the umbrella while open to provide shade. I then added two velcro straps to further secure the rig. Seems like it will work.

Will do... it worked out so well yesterday!
It was about 95 all day, I kept in my own shade. The cart/umbrella gave me a big advantage over other players without. Actually won the Am side of the Jersey Jam, b-tier.
