Any records on winners of the first few of them?

I have no idea, I've had thoughts of it being a worthwhile endeavor to start a Hall of Fame/History website on the state level before it's truly lost, I bet Bill Trousdale or Ted Smethers might have some insight to those early records, we have a lot of DG history in Arkansas that most are unaware of

Just curious, I was there, playing DG at Burns Park, from 1982-85. Also made it out to Ft Smith to play in a tourney that Shawn ran.

Shawn's still active, it had around a 10 year hiatus but Hell on the Border will be in its 15th year this August

Cool, glad to read that Shawn and the event have come back. I won what I think was the first one - I still have the carved wooden trophy.

Come and join the fun!!! You can reunite with Burns Park greats like Robby Shaw, Ben Mosokowski, LenBen, Mountain Man, and Kenny Williams. These are just a few of the guys that still play. Hope you can make it and see what we have done to the place....its turning into one great place for discgolf in the state!!!

If I do it right, there should be a picture of the trophy I got at the 1984 Hell on the Border at Ft. Smith. It's bigger than modern day golf discs, a good 12 inches or more in diameter - I believe it may have been modeled after a 40 mold Midnight Flyer.

The Arkansas State Championships will be held at Burns Park on BOTH Days this year. We will have a Pool A and Pool B
Pool A (at this point) will be Pro Open
Pool B (at this point) will be All other divisions

Pool A Round 1 Blue Round 2 Red
Round 3 Red Round 4 Blue

The Layout for the Pro Open on Blue Course will stay the same for both days.........its set up in the LONGS!

Pool B Round 1 Red Round 2 Blue
Pool B Round 3 Blue Round 4 Red

The Layout for All other divisions will change on the BLUE from LONGS to SHORTS. (Round 1 will be Long)

We are also bringing the PLAY WITH A PRO DOUBLES back! THE TOP 3 PRO OPEN PLAYERS WILL PLAY WITH 3 RANDOM DISC GOLFERS IN A 6 HOLE DOUBLES. The format will be 3 holes Best Shot and 3 holes Alternate Shot! The teams may choose which holes to use their shots. We will have a combined raffle drawing for PRO DOUBLES AND MERCHANDISE RAFFLE. We will be giving away some sweet prizes on that.
Don't forget the $500 DRAWING AS WELL!

Also, we will have our local NEWS Stations covering the weekend, so bring your best game......you might be on TV.

I was told Ulibarri and jarrod Penning tied for 1st, splitting $3500 and Coda got 3rd.

Doug, the TD has no internet access except at work, he is off today and exhausted - this is an SN event and scores will be posted on their site when he gets them done - I'll post a link when I see it

Paul Ulibarri & Jared Pennington ended in a tie, Jared conceded the trophy to Paul and they split the money ($3500)

Coda took 3rd for $750 (....from memory)

of course Liz won Womens Open

Local Phenom Kevin Jones (13 Years old) took 2nd in Am (Intermediate) against a field of 30 something
