And this year it looks like the players will be selecting their own plastic for their players packs! There is a pretty big selection of CFR and TFR discs for the players to choose from, so it should be pretty cool!
Also, I've heard a rumor that Miller (as in Coors) will be donating some signed OU Sooners football memorabilia to be raffled off, as well as plenty of other goodies!
There will be $1000 added cash for the pros, and some pretty sick raffle items for the golfer who has everything already!

See you there!

For you? Of course! Lol! Actually, I will have some more coming out closer to the Spring (probably 3 weeks or so), and that's when the winter ones will become invalid. But, of course, I'll be passing the new ones out at Duncan and at Steve's minis, so I'm sure you'll get a new one sooner or later. But feel free to come use the winter one and then use the spring one later!

I did, I actually bought 2 discs. Then I remembered I had some stashed away behind the counter. I'll get those next time if they are still there. I believe one was a Champ. Glow Aviar.

Swag update: Budweiser has graciously donated a VRocker (wireless gaming chair), a mini-fridge, a basket, and a 19" LCD TV in addition to their other merch donations (coozies, towels, and 3 kegs for the afterparty). These larger items will be raffled off at the tournament. Also, Miller has donated a football signed by Bob Stoops and a nice photo of the OU stadium signed by Barry Switzer along with other merch donations (hats, coozies, and several flats of beer for the pre-tournament work crew).
For the players packs there will be both Innova and Discraft to choose from.
From Innova there will be some Champion Katanas, Star Classic Rocs, Star XDs, KC Pro Aviars and Rocs, Rubber/Wood Aviars and Rocs, Champion TLs, Star Echo Bosses, and more!
From Discraft there will be some Cryztal Buzzes, Cryztal Stalkers, the new Soft Focus, and (of course) the Nuke!
This is one tournament you definitely don't want to miss!!

Okay, the "fire starter" thing sounds seriously sweet!! I'll make sure to have the video camera going! And the fact that it doesn't cost anything to get in on the fire-starter competition (aside from the initial $5/head) is really cool! Boys, you better practice your marksmanship! Lol!

firestarter? That's how you get people to show up...I think this might be even bigger than the first Throwdown! It's a holiday weekend, that is good and bad. Are any mini-basket shots gonna be set up?

Marie42317
Mar 23 2010, 03:16 PM
Yeah, we're doing a little mini round at the players party. You're welcome to bring a mini basket if you've got one!! But there won't be any mini holes during the tournament. :)

Really exciting news!! Mr. Goodcents is going to be catering the afterparty with some of their most popular (and, I have to say, amazingly delicious!) subs!! Brad Workman (who won 3rd at last year's Three-park!) hooked it up!! Thanks a lot, Brad and Mr. Goodcents, for helping to make this party even cooler than last year's!!!

For those who are curious, the purpose of the Three-Park is to try to raise money for the improvement of these parks that we love to play so much! We need a practice basket out at Griffin, some new tee pads at Lions and Griffin, and a ~30 foot bridge across the creek on hole 7 at Lions. (If anyone knows of a way to help out with that, please feel free to call one of us at SDG!) The upkeep and betterment of these courses cost a surprising amount of money, most of which the city is not willing to fork over. So, we have tournaments! When the golfers who use these courses pay to play the tournament, they are helping us get the funds together to make it better for them! We have a blast playing golf, hanging out at a sick after-party, and getting cool discs in our player packs and fat payouts!!

Lol! We'd thought about that! But, we don't want to run short for the tourney afterparty. We could do a BYOB, but as for location I have no idea! Are you volunteering to host? Lol!

The throwdown was a blast as expected. Thanks to everyone behind the scene:Marie, Daniel, Jason, Kim, Dig. You guys did an awesome job. Wanted to give a special super huge thanks to Karla Barton. Karla you're a tremendous asset for us here in Norman. Brad Workman came through big with the sandwiches...enjoyed throwing with him as well. Can't wait for next year.
