Here's some of the latest research that indicates peak sports performance appears to be more likely in the late afternoon or early evening:

That would imply that the second round of a tournament might have better ratings than the morning round. You would also think that the afternoon round may be better due to learning some things to help play the same course better in the afternoon. It also might indicate that course records might be more likely set in afternoon rounds or leagues.

The fact we usually play Finals in the afternoon and the top players in tee time events like USDGC and the Memorial start at Noon or later might also give them an added advantage over early starters.
