The course has been approved - now all we need is the money!

Fundraising is under way for the 18-hole disc golf course at Cal State San Marcos. PDGA.com has a story on it's front page today reporting the $2,500 donation made by the San Diego Aces Disc Golf Club to support this project: http://www.pdga.com/course-sponsorship (nice pic of SDA President Jeff Nichols presenting the check to Monica Watkins of Associated Students/Campus Recreation @ CSUSM). Over half of the funds have been raised, mostly through hole sponsorships. A few prime holes are still available for sponsorship, so now's the time to jump on board! Smaller, supporting donations are also accepted (I hear that everyone making a donation of $25 or more gets a special-stamped Innova mini...).

Look for a story in tomorrow's North County Times. I know that there was an interview conducted today with Hugo Lecomte, the Director of Campus Recreation.

Great news! Could this be a future location of an NT Tour event? FYI: I spoke with Monica and she said they are open to Corprate hole sponsorship too, so I am requesting this through my company. Hopefully, the funds will be generated quickly.

Thanks for help with sponsorship, John! This course won't be capable of hosting a big event, unless it's Superclass. The big events will be on the course I'm planning for a few years down the road (once the property is available).

Cal State will be fun recreationally, good for the students and will get thousands of newbies exposed to disc golf. We're also hoping to have the course used by some of the college classes (Teacher Ed., Kineisiology). Wouldn't you like to see elementary school P.E. teachers in SoCal teaching disc golf?
