I Know that Russelville hosts a mini every sunday(style Doubles).

My question is does anyone know what time it tees off because I plan on being there tomorrow for it. I also have one spot available for a ride up there if anyone wants to go with. Please let me know.

Yesterdays mini

We had 10 players with a ton of casual golfers out there.

Chris E and Chris 43 (-11) $32
Matt and Bradley 47 (-7) $8
and then 3 other teams that two of them shot -6 and the other -4
Great time and this group of guys really has their act together and all of them are still learning the rules but doing it the right way with constructive critisism.
Look forward to it next week.

Would that be "little" Chris that was down there with you, or a different Chris? I need to get ahold of him and see if he is going to make HOTB.

Great to see another Arkie course getting some good usage. That course, in a college town, should see lots of play!! I hope to hit it more once John gets down there, which move-in day is the 15th, so maybe I can get in a round that day!

Well as of right now I am going but that could change. So plan on meeting at Ben Geren around 11 so we can get up there about 1245 and have about a half hour to hang out and warm up. If it does change and I cant go on sunday I will just call you and let you know.

What kind of scores are getting laid down in singles on this track? Anybody have any interest in a daylight round Saturday morning? Just a big maybe.

Heath, here are some results to check out, I certainly wish that I could hit it Saturday morning but can't

looking at hitting it Sunday, wanting to talk to the locals more there

I know that the course was originally designed with a mando or two in mind that haven't been implemented in the past (I think one was in the SN event that is linked)

After seeing it this week-end I'll know if we'll be doing the mandos or not, and no I don't remember which hole #'s

http://www.sndg.org/stats/event.php/773

copy/paste from 2008 results to give some people an idea of what it MAY take

2008 USDGC State Rep. Final Scores:

Eric Bailey 53
Kyle McClure 54

Wish I could hit it Sturday too Heath, but we are taking the little ones to the OK Aquarium, as a before school starts back trip. I will be down there next Satuday moving John in to colege and plan on stopping by. Tell Stacey GREAT JOB at World's! I think her and Shawna have played phone tag the last couple of days, but we kept up with her rounds, and wanted to say congrats on placing in the money at World's!
Her last round was absolutly GREAT!

Hopefully I'll see you next weekend!

Wish you could make it too. Looks like if I'm gonna check out the course I'm gonna have to do it solo:( Stacey is sitting right here and says thanks for the support and congrats. She was-still is, extremely pumped about that last round. Finally shot her first sub-60 round, finished World's with her best round and finished the last hole with an awesome birdie, and her highest rated round to date. Yeah she is still a little jacked up and hard to deal with:)

Hopefully everyone will be able to make it Sunday. Don't forget to stick around for some free grilled burgers and dogs! Tee off is at 1:30.

P.S. The holes that were designed as mandos but never finished were 3 and 5 with 10, 11 and 12 as par 4's.

Very cool track. I hope everyone enjoys dubs today. Gonna take a real low # next weekend to win it. I'm betting 46 or lower will take it. I could possibly see mandos on 3 and 5, not real sure if they are needed on either one though. The course plays well without them. 10 is definitely not a par 4. 11, I can see as a par 4 (3'd it 2x, 5'd it 2x). 12 as a maybe 4 (Hole will probably average out in the 3.3-3.4 range).

I like the layout enough I would like to get in touch with Pitch Jr. and tell him I liked it, somebody get me his e-mail or just pass on the compliment to him for me.

Our youngest Myah turns 3 on the 15th so doubtful I'll make it down, but should be a lot of fun for those that do. Maybe I can get lucky and sneak down, I'd sure like to. It would be fun to play at least one competitive round this summer.

I would think that with your score from your practice, you might have a good shot at the USDGC spot. You should try and get down there. We will all be down there, and will be at the course a bit (Shawna's brother is moving in at Tech that day), but I will not be able to play. I wish I could, as I also have yet to play a competitive round this summer. I'm hoping for HOTB, but that is my wife's birthday weekend, so......

Hope to see many local players down there Saturday, and may the best disc golfer get the USDGC spot and cash for the trip!

Hey Heath, I hope you can make it also, the heat is usually a deciding factor and those that work outside could have a real advantage

Pitch did do a great job there, I think he is active on myspace if you wanna try to reach him on there, I will try to remember to pass it along to him, he and the City of Russellville won an award for the best public park facility in the state with that course

Hole 5 will have a mando to the right of the skinny tree that the trash can is tied to

most everyone throws to the left of it giving alot of 2 opportunities, definitely not in the spirit of the design with true risk/reward

this mando will still allow an "outside" route, just skinnier

I would mando hole 3 but the way the box is built with that tree right off of it would make it awkward, that pad was probably poured a little off from the original intent, mostly 3's from going the outside route anyway, the "tree" route would likely produce more 2's but with more risk of bad kicks, even kicking in the water

I agree about 10 not being a par 4, 11 probably is and 12 is a 600 foot hole but wide open, probably par 4 to casual golfers and sub 900 rated but not to skilled tournament golfers, they used to list another hole as a par 4 but have changed the sign

it'd be cool to see a sanctioned event to see a true ssa on the course, it's a great track and the location makes it very good for the statewide USDGC playoff, truly I wish that we could use Horseshoe Canyon because of the difficulty but it's just not practical to play this time of year

By the way, Pleasent View Disc Golf Club Rocks!!

thanks for the burgers after the round and all the great hospitality

Thanks for everyone who came over to see us Sunday. It was a blast to have new faces to take my money. Hope to see most of you guys again next weekend at the qualifier.

P.S. Anyone who wants to get another round in before the qualifier is welcome to come play in our free mini on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.!
