Looking forward to the SVO'09, fun course, can't wait to park hole 3 again from the long pad looking over I-8. May just have to go out for the monthly coming up.

Hole 3 is actually the uphill shot with the mandatory where the basket is on the hole 5 ball golf tee pad. I believe you may be thinking of hole 11.

Thanks Ben R. and Indigo for being our first online sign-up sponsors!

For anyone thinking about sponsoring...please know that your contribution goes right back into your event. The earlier you sponsor the better we can make your event experience.

If you sign up online or by mail please please add at least the $5 basket-band (card on basket ring). Grab a sandtrap for a little more. Moreover, $30 for a tee-sign is very cheap and really goes a long way. Plus you get to keep your sign for any of these items. Donation of prizes are definitely welcome.

Either way we look forward to seeing you at the 2009 SVO.

82 of 144 spots are taken, still lots of space available. If you are not from the San Diego area and are interested in playing, contact me to see if I can't help make your travel plans a little easier. I know most if not all of the touring players in the San Diego area and thus far have been relatively successful helping players make travel arrangements.

More top players should be signing up in the next couple of days to take a crack at that $1000 first place open prize...

Spots are filling. There are 26 spots left in Pro/MA1 field.
Holding a number slots for Open & Masters, etc; first, but we won't turn away players who want to play. MA1 field is looking good so far at 23 players deep. Come on Master's we got some cash for you too.

24 spots left in the AM-Only field. Intermediate leading the charge at 15 deep.

Don't delay...On-line sign-up ending around Sep 19, mail-in check sign-ups also ending Sep 19. Ca$h excepted all day everyday.

If you want to sign-up in person, contact David Parnell, Carl Renda or Bobby Martin.

Just hit 100 players. The Open Field is looking very strong with a majority of players near 1000 rating or more. We are going to see some extremely competitive golf on the SVO layout this year.

Excited!

Sep 12 2009, 02:50 AM
Only 12 spots left in the Open / MA1 Field and some of those will be eaten up once I check the mail.

The other Amateur divisions from Novice to Adv Masters still have room. Only a dozen player paks still available, first 90 Amateurs. If you are a first-time, Novice, Recreational, or even Intermediate player...not to worry this has been a great event for PDGA event first-timers. See who's playing (http://www.pdga.com/tournament-results?TournID=9076)

Call David or email [email protected] if you have questions, or have already sent an entry and want to check on status.

dmpdisc

MA1 entries subject to waitlist. Please Check with David [email protected]

Entries already postmarked or paid online will receive preference ordered by timestamp. As it stands a few slots are still open that were held for a Mix of Masters and other Pro divisions. Those slots may not be filled and will be open to first-come-first-serve.

We do not want to turn players away, but we do want to give players who may be focused on U.S. Masters or USDGC and opportunity to attend one of the few remaining SoCal events.

Let me know if you are interested. Other Am Divisions are playing in separate flight time, check your rating to see which division you may be eligible for.

Open = 24 @ 25% > 1000, 46% > 990, 63% > 980, 71% > 970
FPO = even money
Masters = each player lives in a city that starts with "S"
Women's Masters, Grand Masters, and Senior Grands = features humans vs. nature
MA1 = ranges from 9-16 in what way?

Only 20 spots left. Lots of good fields, including (so far) 26 in Open, 30 in Advanced (closed), 16 in Intermediate and 14 in Recreational, not to mention that there are 5 women's divisions with multiple players. Don't sleep on it...get in while you still can.

MA1 & all Pro fields now on "wait list." Online sign-up for those divisions will be shutting down. Please contact David [email protected] if you want to be on the list.

The updated entries will be posted in the next couple of days as details are sorted out.

Am-Only tee time (Int, Rec, Adv Masters, Jr. etc) still has 16 openings, but only a few more player's paks available as first-come-first-serve.

Feel free to contact David with any questions related to the event. We look forward seeing you at the 2009 Sun Valley Open.

Don't forget. Sunday afternoon the Final 5 Skins is open to anyone via raffle, where you have a chance to team up with a top player and a shot to win $$$!

Be sure to bring a mini for the free mini CTPs. You will need a regular standard-model mini (no wood, metal, oversized, weighted; etc)

Pro/MA1 mini CTP on Saturday about an hour into lunch. Followed by the real-Deal CTP Eliminator.
AM-Only mini CTP on Sunday about an hour into lunch. Followed by the Real-Deal CTP Eliminator.

Last year young Joel Maury-Holmes made the cut past stations #1 and #2 and moved on to the final station #3, where he made the winning putt vs. his Dad after several rounds of intense putting. Way to go Joel!
