KNOWING IT!!!!

Loved the Ace Race last year.... even though I didn't hit anything!

Any word on the disc type? I know it's early but.... since Discraft just put out the Stalker which everyone is comparing to a Teebird (this was my hope for the Ace Race disc) and the Ringer... I wonder what this will be like?

I heard rumors of an ESP Cyclone. Not sure if you remember the Cyclone from back in the day but it was a sweet disc. Of course this is all hearsay and conjecture.

I know last year we did the Ace Race at McClain but I was thinking of switching courses this year. Since we play the shorts every week at McClain that seems a bit redundant. I'm thinking Universal City is the best option since it has a lot of woods and I can think of some really cool Ace Race style short holes out there. Let me know your thoughts.

Having the Ace Race at UC sounds great... honestly it would be cool anywhere.

Last year I thought you were crazy for having it at McClain, until I saw the tees... that ended up being a great time!

I received a lot of positive comments yesterday about the Ace race being held at UC and no detractors. I'll make a final posting here in the next week, but when I asked the magic 8 ball if the Ace Race was going tobe at UC it said, "All signs point to yes!"

I'll be away either on vacation or out of town on work a lot over the next month so I won't be around at the minis. Don't worry, I'll still be online :D.

Brandon Jethro Tull is on board as Co-TD of the Ace Race this year. He'll be around promoting the event and taking sign ups.

Don't forget you must register for this event in advance. I know its a pain but you are getting $50 worth of merch just for signing up for $25. Rumor has it this years disc will be understable.

For the first time in Ace Race history, this year's disc is a putter! Each player will receive two versions: one in Pro D plastic, and one in ESP!

Should the holes even have shorter tees for the ladies? A couple of people were stating that they probably could not throw a putter that far. Is everyone throwing from the same tees?

Everyone is throwing from the same tees and all holes will be reachable. The course designer is taking into account the fact that this year's disc is a putter.

The entries are coming in nicely. Don't forget if you want to play you must make arrangments by this Saturday (08/15/2009) at the latest to get into this super fun event.

Here is the most current player's list (http://sites.google.com/site/sadcacerace/playerslist) ... we are up to 25 players with at least 5 more most likely coming this today and tomorrow.

I spoke with the course designer yesterday and he's got some really fun things in store. I'd also encourage any who's willing to bring some food type item out to the course for lunch.

Does anyone know if there is a grill a UC? If so, I'll bring some coals and a few food items to grill up compliments of Chesterson's Disc Emporium.

I just unpacked the discs from Discraft and we received 2 additional players packs. I've already turned down registration requests from about 5 players and told them to just come out day of and they be able to get in if someone fails to show. Therefore the 2 spots that are available will be given the first 2 people to show up day of the event. I'll be out there about 9:00 AM to setup.

I'll be providing some grillables, can't say I'll have enough for everyone but I'll try. I'll also be providing some beer. Yes they allow you to have beer at UC. I think Jerry said he (or rather Jeanie) will be grilling something too. I'd encourage you to bring something too, may be a side dish if so desired.
