What is the best trophy for disc golf events? Who has the best designs? Where can you get them? What about price?

Post websites, pictures, or just post your thoughts here.

A relatively cheap trophy that looks really nice, you can get a hold of Rusco at Dynamic Discs. He has a bunch of Milky white bottom stamp Z Buzzz's that he can dye with your tournament logo and division. They make great wall hangers too!

Dyed trophy discs are great if you can master the skills.

These are some of the trophy discs I've made over the past few years:

I didn't do the hotstamp, just the dye work.

Clicking on a picture will probably take you to the photo dumping site where you can find more of my dyed discs.

It takes some time and volunteer(s) but at the Greater Milwaukee Open, Terry Miller had some really sweet trophies. He had someone taking pictures on one of the holes. At the end of the round, and when places were determined, the trophy winner had his/her picture in a frame that that had a border with the division, place and tournament logo. If Terry, or someone who won a trophy, has a picture they should post. One of the best I've seen.

Don't know how much it cost per trophy but I think it could be done for less than $5 a trophy depending on where you would purchase the frame.

I think the framed picture idea is cool, if you can work out the details of taking and producing the pictures.

I've seen a lot of variations on the quarter-toss basket trophy. And my daughter used to make these nifty mini-marker wire sculpture basket trophies. I'll look for pictures...

If you go here:

Scrolling up one post you can see the wire sculpture mini-marker trophies and the quarter toss basket trophies. Oh, you have to register as a user to see the pictures but registering is quick and free.

TWC used action photos of the winning players (8 by 10)
The picture frames cost more than the photo..........between rounds, ran up to Photo shop and printed with Text "Texas Women's Open Champion 2009"
Each trophy cost $4 .....logistic of complete picture process was the only challenge

If you want to spend some more money, and make some really nice memorable trophies, I met a guy in Arkansas this weekend who makes wooden golf discs by hand. They were beautiful! You could have those laser etched, and make the coolest trophies.

There are trophy figures of a disc golfer. Just like little baseball players or bowlers. They made be hard to find..

I run a large awards retailer in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Trophies Unlimited

I have the trophy figurines that drdisc is talking about, can fit onto many styles of awards, it's actually a guy throwing a lid forearm (available in female also)

I have also worked with the guy that RhynoBoy talked about upthread (those wood disc can actually fly very far)

some of the better disc golf awards I've made involve good disc golf or club graphics that can be engraved or printed onto about any award

someday I'll get a proper website going to better visualize

I have made awards for countless events, some of the more notable are the officially licensed Ice Bowl awards, the Southern Nationals Pro Championships and the Green Country Open NT

I am also capable of providing bag tags, tee-signs and other course signage, and about any promotional item that can be thought of

feel free to e-mail any requests to ttctu(at)sbcglobal.net or call the shop 479-783-6634 m-f, 8-5 cst

we can do anything from very economical to the extravagant and they would be made by a disc golfer who is also a td, promoter, local club chairman and a state coordinator who understands your needs :)

Many don't know that drdisc himself was the model for that forehand throwing statuette...

That's awesome, I'd love to hear the story about that, I've often looked at that figurine and wondered how it got made with what I'd perceive as a lower use item, they are incredibly expensive to set-up a mold and produce, I always wondered if it was originally intended for the overall events/free style which used to be so much more common or if it was intended for Ultimate

It is a very versatile and economical component for disc golf or any "frisbee" sport

They knew something like Super Class would come back and continue to make that figurine relevant. Drdisc has slowed down a bit and now moves just a little faster than that figurine...:)

After a few years of doing trophies for our events in Gainesville, I convinced the owner to persue the Frisbee figure. We took a lot of pix of me throwing. Some for Ultimate and some for disc golf. After lengthy consideration, the company decided that they would sell more Ulty figures than disc golf, because, they presumed , that Ulty Tourneys would buy enough tropies for the whole team. As it turned out, the opposite happened.
Go figure. I had some putting and backhand shots that would have been great for golf.
Now days, so many good golfers throw a sidearm that it is relevant.
Like Evan said, they are very versitle and look great on the mantle or in the office.

And Chuck is right, I am just a little faster than the figure itself.
BTW, in our PDGA rag a few years ago, Gregg Hosfield had a pix of his mini van with one of those as a hood ornament! The van later died.

Mystery we've used Shenandoah Awards a couple of times now for small trophies and they treated us well.
