I have played six rounds now on the new Circle C, (would have been seven but, the course was so crowded Sunday 5-17, that I left after hole 6).

I have only been out to the course 4 times, the redesign is SO nice, that I find myself playing a second round immediately after the first.

THANK YOU!

Mike Olse, (who I have seen out there working during 4 of my six completed rounds) Dan Muller for all of his work on the first redesign, and everyone else involved in bringing an excellent GOLF course to Austin.

Now I just need to find a couple of days where I can play Circle C and Manor, then Manor and Circle C to see which course is my favorite... right now it's which ever one I just finished. But then there is always Circle R... and the memory of San Saba's Strawbale... can there be 5 number ones?

Thank you Waterloo Disc Golf Club, my next 10 year renewal will be in the mail a few years early.

I've got to get out to play this course. When is the next sanctioned tourney there?

I don't know of any scheduled sanctioned events as of yet but,
The Circle C tee signs are now in!!!

And to help us raise money to pay for these awesome signs and other Circle C improvements, Disc Nation is sponsoring a Waterloo Club mini there on Saturday morning, May 23rd. $10 entry per person for all divisions; and ALL the payout for all the divisions is in Disc Nation Bucks, redeemable just down the road at the Disc Nation Superstore where you will have a huge selection of discs and other merchandise to choose from. Just to be clear, even the pros will be paid in Disc Nation Bucks.

One lucky player will walk away with one of the old Circle C baskets as a door prize.

Sign up starts at 9:30 am, the round start at 10:00 am

Just go ahead and put a sign on that basket that says "reserved for TWC" and I'll be there to get it. I'm on a mission this year to win some baskets for my ladies next year. I'll bring a couple of goodies from the Double R for Sat. for a ctp. Will the Legend be there?

CWare doesn't want scores, huh? HAHAHA
Mine's on there too. I figured it'd be good since the course is still relatively new in this layout. Remember course par is 64.

There have been two events out there now, the club's fundraiser mini sponsored by Disc Nation on 5/23/09 and the "1st Saturday" mini on 6/6/09.

The best rounds on the new layout during competition are:

long tees, 56, Joel Kelly

short tees, 68, Josh Rippie

Maybe these records will fall this weekend at the Battle of Slaughter Creek coming up this weekend, the first PDGA tournament out at Circle C in a long, long time. More info on the tournament thread: http://www.pdga.com/discussion/showthread.php?t=31782

We received word from the park supervisor at Circle C that there are some very aggressive ground hornets on hole #10 at Circle C. The city has flagged off the area and will be treating it, but possibly not for another few days. So if you are playing out there, be sure to avoid that area; apparently the hornets have attacked some golfers already.

I plan on playing Circle C on Friday at like 8 or 9 AM. Never played it before. Is it easy to find your way around the course?

Also, is there a mini anywhere on Saturday?

Good Map Link C-Ware, thanks!

And there are tee signs on every hole.

I think the club's monthly mini will be that Saturday morning, probably at Pease. Confirmation coming soon.

Thanks for the info. Is Searight the best course to pair up with this one? I have played Seawright but not since the redesign. I have played pease, the Met, Austin Bible Ridge, Wilco, Manor, RR (both), & Zilker and am looking to get as many new courses in as I can.

Disc Golfers,

Circle C will be on display to city officials this Friday morning for a tour of the disc golf course. There are several projects that we would like to have completed before then to have the course looking as good as possible. If you can help during the day or evenings before Thursday, please contact Mike Olse at mike.olse@ci.austin.tx.us or 468-5002 for a description of the projects and the equipment needed.

Thanks,
Waterloo Disc Golf Club

As a quick follow-up to that message, the following additional information came from Mike Olse

The main focus right now will be holes 16, 17 and 18. If we are able to complete the work on these holes before Thursday we will expand the scope to other priority areas of the course. There will be a city employee (or employees) on those holes starting tomorrow from around 8am to 2pm. For folks who are interested in volunteering other times please call me.

Thank you for your time and effort. Call me if you have any questions about this project.

Just wanted to let other disc golfers know there is a hive of bees on hole 11 - it is on the left edge of the fairway (as you walk the hole) just at the dogleg under/around the railroad tie there. This would be roughly 200' from the long tee and maybe 100' from the short.

Be careful! These babies are at ground level, which made them rather hostile towards me as I trampled over their home...

Please let the City know. No, let Mr. Olse know. The City and Mr. Olse are now synonomous. Did I spell it right. I know that is a peeve of yours. :)
