On June 20, just 11 days from now, the Trip C's (Capital City Crushers), our Lansing-based womens disc golf league, will be holding its third annual Disc Girls Gone Wild B tier all-women tournament.
We are proud that each year, Disc Girls Gone Wild has attracted top level champions such as Des Reading, and Elaine King both this year and last, in addition to Michigans top pro player, our own Liz Carr.
Your disc golf club may be interested in drawing more women to your event. Maybe youd be interested in advertising your tournament by being a Hole Sponsor for Disc Girls Gone Wild.
For only $25, we will create a sign with information about your tournament and in addition, if you supply us with a printable file of your flyer, we will make it available to our registered players.
Your club sponsorship will not only help us give our players a better payout, but it also has the potential of drawing more competitors to your event. This is a total win/win!
If youre interested, please send a check for $25.00 payable to CCR our ("brother club") by June 23, 2009. Please mail check to:Erin Oakley, C/O DGGW2009, 102 Park Meadows, Lansing, MI 48917
Thank you for your time and support!

Probably because of the morning rain and other commitments such as work or personal commitments, our DGGW fundraiser was much smaller than we hoped. In all, we had seven players that showed up and bless their hearts, they were willing to buy mulligans like they were M & M's!! They even bought a few discs, so we were able to put some money in the tournament payout kitty, but we still need more.
If you weren't able to come but if you would either like to make a donation toward the tournament, or buy some discs (or both), or purchase a Hole Sponsorship ($25) so we can increase the payout prizes next Saturday, I would love and appreciate it!
Thanks to the 7 that showed up and a special thanks to the 3 Super Mulligan Heros, Kong, Mitch and Erin C.

I think a lot of area players were at that little am-only thing in Milford this weekend. The ones that weren't playing were spotting, caddying, volunteering. A lot of folks were there for an am-only thing. :)

Perhaps starting a cashless pre-reg could get the ball rolling in some of the divisions....? Especially the PWO division where out-of-staters might be thinking of coming, but are waiting to see that the field is big enough to warrant travel...?
Elaine mentioned this weekend that DGGW is probably on her agenda, but she flew out to England last night and will be there at major meetings for work til Thursday. I will more than likely be attending and I've heard from some other chickas that they "are considering it". Perhaps if a cashless pre-reg we could show the fencers that the trip would definitely be worth it with a decent sized-field....... just a suggestion

As far as the Pro women go, I believe there are at least 8 of us for Disc Girls. I have heard from these people: Me, Liz Carr, Sarah D, Jen D, Lisa Warner, Liz Shooner, Sharon Jenkins, Elaine King and I have not heard from Barrett recently but I thought she told me earlier this year she was going to try to make it.
I have raised another $400+ for the Pro Women on top of the $300 added cash so this makes $700 added so far! I am STILL getting more even though the event is only 2 days away!
Zach, thanks for switching the field to Sunday, I may actually try to make it! I haven't been up north in a long time. I will see if I can find anyone else to come.
