Man! David gets 1st 2 weeks in a row with Jimmy as his partner, and now gets 1st with Martin. Nice!
If thats the case then maybe it should be that Jimmy and Martin drew him and got 1st!
Yes, I am the only one who can hold Jimmy back to second instead of first......but the again David is a sand-bagger who should be playing pro. Hee Hee Hee...

I have a prize for the team that has the most fun. Buttercup will pick the winner.
Not personally having a bag tag, I'm not quite sure about the protocol. Does anyone know how long you have to wait to put your tag on the line if you have a top 3 tag?

I forgot to post on Monday that LT and his partner got smoked after having a comfortable lead. I figured since LT never backs down on the chance to talk smack that everytime somebody(who's not a lurker)beats him we need to post it. Because smack is all some people have.
Didn't we blow up on the last two holes and move down to tied with you or one stroke behind. Smoked is when a team gets a pair of 3's on #3!!!!! Okay take a note...I talked smack, this is very rare!

20 players - no aces
Lala & Jiggy/LT & ET - 63 (too dark for a play off)
Jimmie & John EEE - 64
Vinnie & Joe - 65
I need Blake's tag from you Chris. Thanx.
Ok gang. I guess everyone can't blame me & Rusty now!! The past two wednesday's I have seen that Jimmy has not come in first (and Rusty & I were not there) but rather second or third. So maybe this club has more anchors than we thought. But one thing I know for sure is, is that THIS anchor will be back for the first time in two weeks, so grab a life jacket and pray............pray that you draw me cause I will be loaded down with CFO's and a repaired arm, BIGARM that is!! Time off does a body good at my age!!

Damnit V! How many times do we have to tell you not to use the S word about Wednesday? Didn't we get enought **** when we wanted to rotate between S word & Doubles? You want to play 2 weeks of S word in a row? & then a handicap league of S word? Oh my god, what is the world coming to? I can't imagine what the wussies are saying about us now. S word? S word? S word - shoot if we played S word, people might actaully know what a good or crappy golfer they really are rather than hoping to draw Jimmy each week & ride his *** around.
No more S word....how about everybody play callie but without the extra shot?

getting close to the point you guys can play whatever you want. and take sign up , track scores for handicap and do payout.. I have a real JOB. you guys want to play singles then STEP UP and RUN IT... I think its time for me to take a break from weds TD commmitments. Who wants the score cards once I get there ???

Jun 10 2009, 11:41 AM
you bring new cards?
You asked about what we thought about our next league, and because only 4 people will post, the league is not a concensus. The s-word sure got you fired up though.
Today is pro / am?
I plan on doing some clean up around C basket before play, I will be happy to cut that short and run tonight

The sarcasm on this thread is unbelievable - here is a thought....
Let's vote w/ your feet:
Those that want to play doubles show up at hole 1
Those that want to play singles show up at hole 14
Sounds like there should at least be enough for a full card of singles...
I'll check the wind then decide 1 or 14

I've been getting hounded by the lurkers on the board to get a players list up for Outlaws. If you are playing I need your name and pdga # tonight. I have made it so club members can pay the Friday before the tourney at Doubles which I know you all want to play. So whether you are playing or have time to staff(very much needed)I need to know tonight. Also, each card tonight will be given a trash bag, let's see if we can get a cart on each card so they can carry it. Shouldn't be a problem with all you old coons that show.

Got out and measured the south course today with Buttercup and it aint no punk at 7400'. Thanks BC for taking time out. I hope to have maps and OB's available this Wednesday at the mini for both the Rock and the South course. This Wed. is singles on the Rock so come out and get a look and a shot @ $500 if your a current member. South course will be set up for dubs at 2 on Friday. If you want an early look come out and help us pop the baskets in at noon. Meet at Hole 13. Still haven't heard from the Houston bunch but ADGA is coming in...good times. It's kind of ironic that hole 18 measures 666' over the OB pond. Trust me that wasn't planned. See you soon, get signed up at discnation before Wednesday.

i've scribbled down a start at a spreadsheet formula for the "total" column whose sum would be based on the values of the 10 frames (plus the post-10th frame(s)). I'm not a spreadsheet formula expert, but I have lots of experience writing algorithms and code in general. So, we'll see. Yes, lets talk at the START of the next mini (not AFTER). I have the day off next Wednesday so i'll be there early.

A Java Applet (running in a browser) may be the way to go. Something similar to this:
http://tralvex.com/pub/bowling/javaBSC/index.htm
but with a way to dynamically add more people (and their names) to the scorecard. And, where the only choices were 0, 5, 10 (aka gutter, spare, strike). Would love to get the applet code behind that page but i doubt the guy would provide it. But I'll ask!
and no i won't keep writing geeky stuff to the board. heh
johne
Oct 08 2009, 10:46 PM
ok, one more. I found an example web page that i can use as the basis to build a powling app in javascript (http://www.freexsums.com). That page includes a javascript file that builds the puzzle, and it has all the key features that I can borrow from to build the powling scoresheet and let one score each frame, for each person, and show totals. Yeah, I know. When I'm not golfing, I'm a geek. What can I say.
Time-wise, give me a couple of weeks.

next week starts at 4:30 winter course meet at hole # 13 .. new hole layout is as follows.
hole #1 will be am box C -hole
hole #2 will be regular B-hole
hole #3 will be regular #14
hole #4 will be regular #15
hole #5 will be form around basket #15 to B-hole
hole #6 will be to basket # 12 from corner of parking lot old winter # 4
hole #7 will be to basket #11 old winter #5
hole #8 will be to basket #10 old winter #6
hole #9 will be to basket #9 triple mando hole
hole #10 will be to basket # 8
hole #11 will play to basket #7
hole#12 will be regular #8
hole #13 will be regular #9
hole #14 will be regular #10
hole #15 will be regular hole A
hole #16 will be regular #11
hole #17 will be regular #12
hole #18 will be regular #13.
Ace pot is still $500 and there are bounties on the winter course. bounties for winter is if you can get the disc to stay on the top shelf of B's basket you get $50. that will be good for hole #2 and hole #5.
big course bounties are get a 3 on #4, get a 2 on #5, get a 2 on C-hole from the pro box, land the disc on the top shelf of B-hole.
all bounties are worth $50

perhaps we should bring some charcoal, grub, and baskets "just in case"? heh
fyi, i put a copy of the powling program in a place anyone can see it, in case anyone wants to look at it and observer scoring behavior. There are no bells and whistles yet, not sure that's even needed. Basic functionality is there. Took me 2 evenings last week to get to the point that its at now.
powling link (http://pages.suddenlink.net/johne/powling.html)
hit the link; add name, press ok; add another name, press ok; when all players names are added, enter an empty name (leave field blank and press OK). Cancel does what it says, so don't press that.
To start a new game, hit link again.
'G' is gutter
'S' is spare
'X' is strike
up/down/left/right arrows lets you move between cells
mouse click selects a specific cell
10th frame also collects the "extra shots", so if you put X in 10th frame, you can add another X, S, or G. If 10th is spare, then you can add another X or G.
bad characters are ignored
if u see anything that needs to change because its not functioning right, let me know.
V, i'll bring a copy of this on a usb stick for our first night of powling, whenever that is. If it might be tomorrow, let me know.
Hey John, I noticed that after the explanation about x and g you said "bad characters are ignored"......so why would Carroll even show up?

4:30 start, new winter course layout - C hole is hole 1. Ware will have cards marked with new layout. New $50 bounty for landing on top tier of both B holes for current members. The ace pot is $500 per Wednesday (current members only) - multiple bounties can be paid in one night.
OK this must be a sign - the meal deal when you walk in my HEB is if you buy a pack of sausage you get tortillas & beans for free. So I've got 1 pack of each & will bring the crock pot to heat the beans (enough room for more if someone brings another can). We should already have coals & cooking utensils. Someone will need cups & spoons & a bunch more food. Edman said last night he'd have 2 baskets(419 & 420), so the lanes are set. I wont be playing the round, so if everyone wants to throw in some $, I'll run to the store & pick up anything else we want/need.

See ya'll when we can get there. Edman will do am payout with club merch @ the pavilion while ya'll set up for powling.
Don't forget elections coming soon - we will be repacing at least 2 currnet cabinet members. Nominations will close this week. If you know someone with the passion to help continue to move the club forward, get a form from Chris or check you e mail for the electronic form & send it to a cabinet member. If you've recieved a "Willing to Work" email & I don't recieve you're reply by this Saturday that will be considered you declining the nomination you've recieved.
