GCCX Video:
We have several hours of footage from 3 cameras covering the open women leaders with one cam and the others trained on the open men leaders for their final round. The footage has been captured to computer formats and I have already worked on an opening. The rest will �write itself� kind of quickly. I am waiting for a new editing station being delivered this morning, which will burn Blu-Ray discs in full THX surround. Anyone that wants Blu-Ray can request that version in advance but I should add that the event was shot in Hi-DV, not HD. It will still look great, as it was sunny out, providing good contrast etc. I should have a working edit within a week or two and I have a rough-draft viewing party planned. If anyone would like to participate and provide constructive criticism, we can easily move the �party� to the Blue Ox or to your backyard.

If you have any media that you feel is worthy of sharing, please send me an email. I would gladly include any photos, video or music that is relevant to the top pros in this event only. I am in contact with Rory Self but there was another photog who promised to leave contact info for his art at T-Central. I did not get that or his name as we were both filming when we spoke. (older feller, grey beard, black baseball hat turned back, long camera lens)

Personal Improvement Videos:
I have had numerous requests to videotape local and beginner players for personal review and/or critique by more advanced players. I have a long-term plan for both but it all begins with shooting some footage. I will be available by appointment for anyone wishing to videotape several examples of a particular shot(s) the player would like videotaped for review. This will not be an entire round of golf and will take a little planning to coordinate. I will be available for this on Tuesday afternoons/evenings and Saturday afternoons.

Richie I think this is a GREAT Idea and something that I would be interested in doing myself. What would you be charging for this great service and what would the lengths of the video be?

Good point. No charge for club members. I didn't consider large groups / non-members but that might be something to charge a fee for. I think doing it as a group or during Bag Tag is a bad idea. I am open to ideas regarding beginners, potential members or anything else you guys come up with.

I am writing from my new workstation and it will make quick work of almost any video project we could produce. Now I need an HD camera...

A agree about the large groups...
What about doing any Clinics that we have? These would be great reference for anyone who plays....

Two victims took me up on the invite yesterday afternoon and we inadvertently left the camera running so a few more were obtained surreptitiously.

I was going to include this gag during the GCCX credits but one of my peers (Thanks Joe) suggested that royalty free media is the way to go. Hope you get a laugh out of this, it is a little sloppy....been busy.

BTW Cary got an ace on hole #17 out here and shot a -10 his second round which I believe was the hot round. Think he jumped from 17th to 5th.

Will do. No take-home drafts, sorry. Also, I did not add any cheering to any of these clips even though it sounds like I did on the last clip. I actually had to take out some cheering that was too close to the cam on the first teaser. What a difference the loud crowd makes, especially since we don't use running commentary.

Blazek will be on the road for a couple of weeks so we are pushing the screening back a week or so since he is the most interested party. I have a good place that is close to you John for 6 or 7 of us to socialize for a couple hours.

Be patient though, since I don't have a real deadline I will take the time to learn some new tricks I was unable to render in the past. The leaderboard and "lower thirds" score titles are a lot of work and doing ".tga" alpha channel graphics are new to me but worth the effort. I will talk to you about that when I see you. I think you could help me a lot there. If I do them right, I can simply plug the same title graphics in for the next tourney and be done with it much sooner.

I can't see it when I am at work because it is hosted at Youtube . The previous videos were not Youtube so they can be viewed anywhere.

I know, it really does look pretty good and has the ability to serve different versions of the same video. I noticed PDGA is using it on their home page. It is free to use and be advised that there are several options to use advertising which clog up the frame with overlays and post-view ads unless you opt out of that in your profile. I'm re-loading the McCabe video to illustrate the difference from Blip.TV and YouTube.

The rough cut I have is actually more of a 3rd draft and is almost finished. Leader board titles, sponsor logos and lower third titles completed, transitions and edits tweaked, original music scored and some of the awards ceremony added. Blazin' and a few friends will screen it with me tonight but I will do this again with the club board if asked.

I still have a good amount of work to do on the ladies round but it will be ready to ship LONG before the Halloween Tourney. It will likely end up in the players pack for that. It may also be included in the Memorial players pack DVD by Disc Golf Live so I won't post anymore content from this event until all that is said and done. Your gonna like this!

Thanks to Gwen and Roger for hosting our gathering last night of about a dozen golfers around their 60" Aquos TV and Blu-Ray player! The video and titles looks very sharp, even at that size and even in the low light situation we had at the Blue Ox. The group provided very constructive criticism which will speed up the post-production a little. People took notice of the new gimmicks too. More cowbell!

During the remote control enhanced replay....Pat was agonizing over his three putt on the 2nd to last hole and we were all impressed at how great it looked while in super slow motion and frame by frame on the big screen. Success!

This course isn't open, there isn't much to see besides the views below. I thought it was cool to get some clips with the fence still up and the landscaping so new. Looks like fun.

It looks like the GCCX DVD will not be released until the next GCC. I am unsure if that will be limited to prize packs and at the club store or if we will put one in the players packs instead. That is a lot of DVDs! I have been cutting the women's division and found some usable clips from the extra cameraman. We will have another local viewing soon.

I wanted to share more video of this course but I brought a back-up camera which failed during a great round. Cruiser had a beauty of an ace on a narrow uphill shot that would have looked great on screen.

The course features 27 holes crossing 16 buckets, passing the cabin 3 times during the round and playing several fairways both down and then up major inclines that I am really sorry I missed on video. I will have to go back for that I think. Many holes are short, technical shots but there are quite a few long shots that don't show well here. I walked the course alone for a bit, doing some of this video and thinking how much fun it was for Vince and his friends to create this in his magnificent backyard. What a dream meanwhile.
