Since it was too muddy to play in Palo Alto, this was moved to Ripon, CA. 70 teams were invited from all over the United States.
I watched a little in the morning yesterday. I saw defending men's national champion Wisconsin beat a feisty Brown team and later watched Stanford play Brown.

The women were a lot of fun to watch as well. Where were all of the women when I played? I guess that was too long ago and the game has changed quite a bit since the early 80's. These guys have play books now! And cheers!! I was like, what's all the yelling about.
The game seemed a little bit rougher, but players didn't have any trouble calling the fouls. And there are a lot more players throwing forehands with greater ease than what I remember.
I didn't stick around for the later games matching the best teams, but had a great time re-living my past passion.
Frisbee/disc sports are awesome!

I was one of the designated pullers for my team. I loved to throw, but hated to run...SUB!!! I liked DG even back then, but I played Ulty so I could through the 'bee more and hang out with other disc throwin fools.

Played twice: 1977-82 as an undergrad, and 85-87 as a grad student. I really felt old the second time!

Who did you "pull" for, Bill?

I played for the Chico State Air Heads and the Penn State Highly Enlightened Lords of the Valley.

Am also curious about any other discers that post on here. List your ultimate team.

Gang Green of NTSU/UNT (or the Pickles as we were knows as on Sunday mornings)

Played in Ultimate tournaments in Dallas, Denton (our own tournament) College Station, Baton Rouge LA, and Albuquerque NM.

I did play for a summer with the Dallas teams at Brookhaven Collage.

This would have been 86 to 88 or so. Work got in the way. I have always worked pizza and when I started working in Roanoke I was scheduled on Ultimate nights.

It was about that time I discovered Disc Golf too. That was something I could do anytime. That is one reason I got into tournament play 2 months after playing my first round of Disc Golf. (purchased my first Disc at the end of April '88, played my first tournament in June of 88. (the Texas State Championships held in Carrollton)

I played my 2nd tournament in Tulsa just a few weeks later (The Tri Tulsa)

Then I played the Black Eye'd Pea tournament run by John Houck in Athens TX later that month.

The first time was for PUFF (Purdue Univ. Frisbee Flippers), then when I returned, the team name was the B'Attitudes.
