i'm playing in the wintertime open (ams) for the first time this year and i overheard someone saying there would be configurations and holes different than the normal course; i even thought i heard descriptions of holes that would basically be doubled (like teepad 19 to basket 20 for instance) - is that what happens?
and if extra holes are added, when do they usually put them up?
Yes, that is what happens. So, the WTO layout will likely (I have not verified) be up for the OG weeklies this week and next (Wed.). If that does happen, and the extra baskets are secureable, then I would imagine they'd stay up after next week's weekly (i.e., Wed thru Sun). Call the TD Mark Horn - or email - his info is on the entry form.
The layout we played during the weekly was as follows: (NOTE - subject to change, as there has been no "official" announcement yet, but this seems to be as accurate as I could imagine at this point):
1. long, mando right of oak tree
2. long, other side of ravine
3. hole 3's teepad to hole 4's basket - PAR 4
4. Spider Tree
5. long, across ravine
6. hole 6's teepad to hole 8's basket - PAR 4
7. normal hole 9 long under wires
8. hole 10's teepad to hole 11's basket - PAR 4
9. normal hole 12 long behind oak
10. new desert hole, long
11. new desert hole, plays to hole 13's basket
12. normal hole 14 (canyon)
13. hole 15's tee pad to hole 16's basket - PAR 4
14. normal hole 17, long
15. normal hole 18, long
16. temp hole behind bathroom - PAR 4
17. temp hole lake shot
18. hole 19's teepad to hole 20's basket, mando right of wrapped oak tree - PAR 4

That sounds about right. Man, I love that layout. The Par 4s are the best holes out their and the temp holes really challenge you arsenal. I can't wait!!! :D

Chuck Powell is signed up for MA1. He accepted cash three times in 2006 as a pro, and his rating is above the threshold which would allow him to play in amateur divisions.
Did he take amnesty?

So I just looked and his rating didn't pass the 970 threshold till November of 2008. He's been playing MA1 and MM1 for the last two years with a rating below 970.
So, now that his rating has gone above 970, does it matter that he accepted cash in '06? I'm not sure how this works.
Can anyone set me straight?

Chuck took the amnesty a couple of years ago and had his amateur status reinstated. He is now officially an Am so it doesn't matter if his rating is over 970 or not.

Excellent. Thanks for the explanation.
