Has anyone had the opportunity to practice throwing indoors during the winter? I'm most curious about people that have had the opportunity to throw in a warehouse. Does the disc get beat in faster hitting smooth concrete? Any problems with the disc? Positives or Negatives? Thanks

I used to practice all the time in our welding shop. The only thing was the dust and dirt but that probably helped protect the disc! :D

You can also hang a big piece of carpet from the ceiling in your basement and throw drives into it. Pretty fun actually but weird not getting to see the disc fly...

...and can reinforce bad technique since it's the flight we base our opinions on. Just sayin'... /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I did it more for a workout and strength training exercise than to zero in on technique. I already have pretty good techniqe. Not seeing the flight of my disc does not mean that I all of a sudden have bad technique. Either way you look at it, it's better than not doing it. I haven't done it for a while, but I was thinkin I should do it this winter...

if throwing is the motion we use on the course then throwing against the carpet or any backstop will keep ones timing up to date where when the weather breaks the fine tuning of aim is easier achieved as there is less time re training the throwing motion. same thing goes for putting indoors during bad weather it good for routine and form however the course adjustments are still neccessary to make.
