what music is the best for you when playing disc golf?
If you wore an ipod what would be your track(s) of choice?
My buddy Curtis morey (31897) asked and Barry Schultz'--Pink floyd.
I would like some good guitar music- Satriani, eric johnson or some eddie van Halen

Flaming Lips. I like it all, but the newer stuf for DG
Dios (Malos) a little known band from LA.
Beck's Modern Guilt.
Iron & Wine, The Shepherd's Dog.
I like mellow stuff with a slightly bouncy groove to it, to play disc golf to.

Giles, by looking at your preferences in music, I think you'd enjoy a band called " The Mad Laugh", out of Oklahoma City. -Former band that is. I've got a cd I could rip for you if you'd like. Send me a PM with your info if you want to take a listen.

I don't listen to music while I play, but for some reason "Ace of Spades" by Motorhead always gets me pumped to go play :D
Favorite pre-tourney pump-up albums:
Nas - Illmatic
Deltron 3030 - self-titled
Wu Tang Clan - 36 chambers
100 Demons - In the eyes of the Lord
Bad Religion - Suffer

Thanks for suggestion but I'm "that guy" when it comes to music. You would be hard pressed to tell me a nation wide act, past or present, that I havn't heard or heard of. Local stuff is different thought. I struggle to find decent music in DFW let alone any other city.

I always practice with my mp3 player (though I detest Apple so I refuse to use the moniker "Ipod") but I got it recently so I haven't used it in play yet. When the snow is gone I will, but with current conditions, it is only productive to practice. I disc golf alone 90% of the time so I'll probably use it 90% of the time :P
I listen to pretty much every kind of music but I have some very specific music discing.
If I'm practicing mid-range shots I always listen to Disillusion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dREjsCoKt64). It keeps my drive going while walking back and forth between shots. If I had to pick, I'd probably go to these guys first for a full round.
For driving practice I'll usually listen to Slayer (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SyD02UkZ9lE), Mushuggah (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOd-T58qHLA), or Incubus (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIBD7L73I4Q). They get my adrenaline going while being very rhythm based.
When I'm putting I listen to all kinds of different stuff. Mostly I go straight to 311 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SakkS2Im1OE). However, on some days The Mars Volta (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xRDG9GKb-TM) are my go to band. When I'm trying to keep my focus for a long time I'll go through many different bands. Everything from Bjork, (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8ZPV4RzG4M) to Modest Mouse (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZE-ML-BAAfY), to Tool (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wS7CZIJVxFY), to Sage Francis (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sJ7w-z4BvMo).
I skateboarded for a number of years when I was younger and listened to music the whole time and it helped my focus then so I think that's why it helps my focus so much now. It just takes me away from all of my other shots and whatever else is going on around me and helps me focus on the exact shot I'm trying to make.

LOL! I listen to Filter a lot when I'm practicing but I never listen to that song. I never even thought of that...
Although the first line of So I Quit (http://irc.lv/video?id=Cxabm4MtLTYS) is usually what I say when I quit practicing...
