I am heading out from Houston towards North Carolina for Christmas and plan on stopping every chance I get to play. Any suggestions on must play courses either up through Arkansas/Tennessee or along Alabama/Mississippi/Louisiana. My plan includes hopeful stops at 7 oaks in Nashville, Reny Gold when i get to NC and Winthrop since it's right there. There's a lot of stuff in between so any help with suggestions on must plays would be awesome.

Lake Lowndes state park in New Hope/Columbus, MS
Trace State Park just outside Tupelo, MS
these are 2 of the best in the state of MS, with LL having 2 sets of tees

I personally liked Cedar Hill more than 7 oaks when I was in Nashville, so be sure to check it out too

Huntsville, AL has the awesome UAH course and Redstone Arsenal if you can get in contact with somebody to let you on the base

Also be sure to stop at the IDGC and play those 2 courses, especially the W.R. Jackson course

I'm sure you can't play them all but figured I'd throw those out there to choose from - also vist www.dgcoursereview.com (http://www.dgcoursereview.com) to maybe get more information on them

I agree with Clayton, Cedar Hill is better than 7 Oaks.

My wife got to play Redstone last week at USWDGC, but since she was in the intermediate group she didn't get to hit up the UAH course. I'm not sure we'll be able to make it over Augusta way to the IDGC, We usually head from Charlotte back to B'ham via Atlanta. But if time allows i'd love to go check it out. Which part of town is Cedar Hill in? I will probably try to hit both those courses in MS. I played Tishominga (sp?) on the way back from the B'ham summer solstice tourney and really enjoyed that course. Ms seems to have some great land out there ripe for good courses.

Thanks for the great suggestions guys I really appreciate it. Also if any one knows of minis that will be going on...give or take the week of Christmas.

Cedar Hill is on north side of town but close in---can't be more than 10 or 15 minutes from 7 Oaks. I'll also chime in that I like Cedar Hill more, and when traveling through Nashville always try to play it.

Is it up 65, or around Briley Pkwy? I used to live there, but that was before I started playing.

Anyone have other NC suggestions, I think that Asheville got a great course in the last year or so, but I don't remember. I usually come from Nashville through Knoxville and on to Asheville and then down to Charlotte.

Ashe Park, in Jefferson, NC.!!! Killer new mountain course designed by Harold Duvall.
Check it out, www.highcountrydiscgolf.com (http://www.highcountrydiscgolf.com), and let me know if you add it to your list of stops.

Looks like fun. I may swing from Knoxville over that way and then back down through Asheville. Final destination is Kings Mtn. Which is kinda cool because there is almost as many courses around there as there are here in Houston.

Up I-65, a couple miles north of Briley Parkway. I remember at AmWorlds 2001 running up and down Briley Parkway, which pretty much linked 4 of the 5 courses, and the host hotel.
