So when I drive I always rotate on the balls of my feet and my toes. I can tell this by the wear in my shoes. I have seen (on youtube) that many people throw rotating on thier heels. Does it make a difference? I know I dont know but if it does...
thanks for your help

I too am a heel turner, but from what everyone I have ever asked about it says toes are best.
Makes sense to me, just cant make my body do it.

I couldn't tell you what I do, but I remember a thread a while back claiming that you will get more distance rotating on your heel. I believe the thread went so far as to claim that all the top guys through this way but I do not have the ambition to dig up that ancient thread...

I think the weight shift (and speed) required for good distance varies from player to player, and some can be effective rotating from the heel and some from the toe. Just like grip - there is no "one right way" to do it.

From what I have heard I understand that rotating on the heel has greater potential for power throws as energy transfer is more efficient (kind of like power hitters leaning way back) and it may be that pivoting on the ball of ones foot provides more accuracy but less potential for power. not sure though...
