Cubby can putt. He knows how to make a Firebird dance and is fearless.
He plays more golf rounds than anyone I've even heard of.
Family man, retired navy man, buisness manager, sleep deprived discgolf junkie.
And one of the nicest people you are likely to ever meet.
He volunteers his time to co-host the Disc Golf Monthly cable show. (Also on you-tube.)

Check out his placements in tournys if you want to see how you would fare against him.

And he has promoted the sport to more people than you could believe. Check out his website. http://cubbysdiscgolfworld.blogspot.com/

I was in Portland, Oregon when someone learned I was from Jersey. They asked if I knew Cubby. :)

I'm not ashamed to say he has bested me on my home course at times. Man, he can putt!

I have noticed that some people wait until
they enter their first sanctioned tourney of the year to renew.
That might be a reason that he hasn't renewed.
Just a thought

There are many ways to support disc golf. Joining an organization is one way, but not the best way for everyone. Why not be a positive support for what this guy DOES for disc golf, and not what YOU think he should do for disc golf.

Cubby...do you...and do it well!!!

i believe this cubby fellow may very well do a very necessary service that the pdga doesnt do and that is get people excited about the opportunity to play and play well. he has a putting routine on his web page that i thought was second to none. and to watch somebody set up a camera then walk back to the t pad then throw a perfect shot then walk upto the cage and retrieve his disc is very exciting therefore may encourage others to attempt the same.

During our annual B tier, "the Jersey Jam" I beat him in two rounds at his home course "Rutgers" this past weekend... I'd venture to say that over 70% of his aces are at this course.

True story, I pull in to the campus at 7:30 am to put out my baskets for the tournament and see Cubby. He then tells me that he's been at the course since 3:30 am!!! Oh, and by the way, he'd already had several aces.

His scores were 61, 62. Mine were 59, 56. He's a great golfer and very, very consistent. The layout we played was a bit longer than the "ace run" version of rutgers.

He is a KING at CTP contests. In this case, the prize was a discatcher sport. This time however, I was the one who ACED the CTP basket from about 250 and won the basket from the ace king. I think he was mad... :o

That could be understatement of the year. Cubby almost exclusively plays the 'A' tees layout at Rutgers where the longest hole is 230 feet and the total layout measures 3500 feet. The Jam layout plays from 'B' and 'C' tees and to temporary holes and plays almost twice as long.

With several hundred aces and regularly shooting scores in the low 40s, without question Cubby has mastered one particular disc golf layout like no other person in the history of disc golf. It is a tremendous feat that is unrivaled in disc golf history and it should be recognnized for such.

However, I will always maintain that this activity, which despite being his preferred method of playing disc golf and brings him an extreme amount of joy, does not help a great deal to make him become a better OVERALL disc golfer, especially on courses with longer holes.

Cubby won his division. Where were you?

Whatever happened to "most fun wins"?
In this, NO ONE can beat him. You might tie him though.

The "ace run" layout of Rutgers is a misnomer. While it is a shorter course and you can get to the basket with a golf disc in one, there are not a lot of players getting aces on a regular basis. In all the years I have played there, I have only aced three of the baskets on that layout.

Sounds like he should get an honorary campus security badge for as often as he's there.

Campus security knows him pretty well. :D

While the rigors of his job don't allow him to play several times per week, Cubby will make the most of it while he is there and play 7-12 rounds in a row. The course is also lit for night play which allows him to play through the night if he chooses to.

Again, this is the kind of golf that makes HIM happy, and there is no denying that aces are exciting. Whoever has the most fun wins, right?

Cubby stopped coming to Rutgers for a while after he and his friend got parking tickets. That was a while ago though.

Many of his aces are on local players private courses too.
