Got some money in the course fund ready to put in two pads. For a $125 sponsor a pad and have an engraved inset put on your donation. GREAT FOR ADVERTISING. Also basket sponsors are welcome with guaranteed advertising signage in high visibility locations. Do a good deed, advertise and support your local course with tax deductible donations.

What kind of mini is this?????????????

I was going to come out and support this mini until I read that there is a requirement for PRO players to play. This is absolutely rediculous.

I think the requirement is for ams to play for any pro players to sign up, which is even more out there.

I went anyway, beautiful day! The rain stopped and it was nice and cool. I was eaten alive from the shorts. But came back to even from the longs! :D

I called Brandon and he says that the GBCC is still working out payout so the mini will start next week. Hopefully by next week the rules can change. What about handicapping, Brandon? That would be an attractive way to include an open field if there are worries about sand bagging...

it reads "Focus on Am's"? And this requirement is for Greenbriar only. This easier course was designed to introduce new players to disc golf and the rules that alot of casuals are unaware of. So if open players are interested in coming out the best way to guarantee an open card is to bring an Am buddy. The future of the sport is with young people (AMs),if we don't do this then it always ends up open only Because regulars don't want to split payout between to two divisions and it runs off the Am's.

why so pessimistic? Every time someone tries to help the sport grow it is met with a negative attitude instead of helpful suggestions like Brownlow mentioned. i am open to suggestions but rude comments will get you nowhere.

Jun 10 2008, 02:05 AM
In order for this sport to truly grow, it needs more PRO players. We have far too many am players compared to Pro players. I would think that an am player would want to learn how to play disc golf from a pro rather than another am if they were offered a choice. Getting more people involved in our sport is fantastic, but you can't put limitations on the better players.

Alot of the am players that play in minis play in the Pro division so they can learn something from the real pro players. I always offer two divisons at our minis in Crowley, so I don't know what you are talking about running off the am players.

Got enough for two or three boxes in the course fund. Hole one for sure--any suggestions on a priority hole? #15, #13?
And anyone willing to help with installation?
